Gantz Live Action

Maybe I am the only person who is really stoked about this, but it looks really amazing. From what I can see in the trailer they've really captured the characters. They have covered the back stories and home life of each person. I even saw the bird alien for a bit. Any fans of the anime or manga out there who would like to weigh in? Lots of videos in the first link.

This just in: Anime News Network reports the project will be presented in two films.

I watched Gantz... was deeply disappointed.

Nothing gets explained, all the cool characters you want to give a shit about die.

But, yeah, I'll probably check it out.

I had that issue when I had only seen the anime. They end it off at a bad place, and never explain anything. If you read the manga it explains a lot more because it keeps going after the show ended. I also find the manga goes a lot quicker than the anime, which had an entire disc of episodes dedicated to what would normally be a short fight sequence.

You should check out the casting though. It's a little iffy. The guy who plays L in the live action versions of Death Note is playing Kurono. He better be a really great actor, because as L he was quiet and eccentric, and Kurono is outspoken and courageous.
