Unhappy Nothing scares me :(

I used to love horror movies especially creepy suspense like 'The Ring' or real jumpy like 'The Descent' but lately I'm finding nothing works!! I feel like a druggy whose developed a tolerance! I don't like slashers or too much torture but otherwise I like most styles. Please help! Any suggestions???

There's no help for you. It's over.

I thought Insidious had some good moments - The Innkeepers was pretty good (slow and atmospheric but good). House of the Devil was also pretty good (same director as Innkeepers so also slow and atmospheric).

I think for those of us who love horror - at some point the 'scared' fades and an appreciation of the artistry takes over - this might be the way a director creates atmosphere or the way an effects wizard makes gore - but we learn to appreciate the films more than fear them.

I completely understand you. Insidious was a good one and so was grave encounters. It seems like I watch more horror movies and just get disappointed then actually enjoy it.

Zero hits it on the head.

I keep searching for the white whale.

Key is to ratchet horror up to the next level: experience terror in real life. Join a demonic cult. Walk dangerous neighborhood streets at night. Answer dubious craiglist ads. There is no limit to the rush of horror from this "thrill-seeking."

Though my BFF got us a night in a haunted hotel... Last Christmas. Still haven't gone, I have seen enough movies not to mess with that shit

This is another good idea. Find creepy old abandoned houses in town and set up residence.
