Latest read ~ Climbing Mount Improbable by R. Dawkins (Finals are drawing near so my reading has to be helpful in that regard.) If you're interested in Biology or Evolution it's a good book. Currently reading Einstein's Heros. Cynner's list of books that his kids WILL read. F 451 Starship Troopers 1984 |

I had to read To Kill A Mockingbird for school. I finished it about a week ago. I didn't like it. It just wasn't my kinda book. Though, I will admit to it having its moments. But they came very rarely.

just finished reading "obsidian butterfly" by laurel hamilton who is currently my favorite alternate history/vampire/monster author.
have read most of her anita blake vampire hunter series. currently I'm reading: the federalist papers the 48 laws of power watership down the complete sherlock holmes Choice Theory Forensics for Dummies no understand that some of these are read off and on when I don't feel like reading anything else but for the most part all are all actively being read. Just finished a book about a month ago called the forensics of vampires. quite good.

i'm reading a very short book - almost finished it last night - called Weight, which is a retelling of the myth of Heracles and Atlas . . . its well written but nothing to run out and read immediately.
there's also a retelling of the Odyessy by Margaret Atwood, told from the point of view of Penelope called the Penlopiad - i might read that next

Its part of a series of books called Discworld. Well worth a look but dont be expecting horror they are more comedy but really well written. This is a world which is a big disc sat on top the backs of four elephants who in turn are riding a giant turtle swimming thru space! This book is about a coven of witches battling it out with a family of vampires who are trying to overcome their traditional weaknesses ( such as religious symbols n stuff )

that sounds kewl. I just picked up one of the books I've been missing from the anita blake vampire hunter series "the laughing corpse" -- I almost bought her newest anita blake but her newer ones aren't as much fun, not as dark and nasty with a sense of humor, she really seems to've switched her focus to "how much sex and in how many different ways can I portray it and with how many different types of creatures." I find that gets abit boring after a while.
I also bought the first in a series called "hot blood" which is an anthology exploring horror, blood, and sex -- all the best taboos.
