really - if he's here to contribute in appropriate threads - let him have his say.

lots of people have had bad starts and turned out for the better ...

the problem with a horror forum is that there seems to be some kind of preconceived notion that you have to be a badass - or have a bit of an edge.
a lot of people eventually relax and start being themselves once they see the way the wind blows.

i don't believe i've had any examples of me trying to be a "bad ass." if anything most everybody else has acted that way. i also, don't appreciate the thread being turned in to an about me. go to this forum thread in the member lounge instead of trying to butcher this one. sure if it was within the frameworks of the conversation then fine, but an outright bullet is not necessary, in this case anyway.

pg-13 people.

Thanks for sticking around and making a contribution. Accessibility over quality is often an issue, but it's an issue also present in bland brand x Lion's Gate rated R horror. There are also movies made for the hard R to choke down for public consumption, and actually, if you take a look at the PG-13 horror titles listed here, PG-13 horror is often more risky than R rated horror. R rated horror will, if anything, have more of an ingrained audience, PG-13 is more of a tossup. It's kind of a no-man's land sometimes. Hardcore gorehounds might shun a PG-13 flick and it's also easy to realize that the rating doesn't necessarily mean family friendly. How many preteens are really seeing 1408 and movies like it? At ten through thirteen, I saw every R rated movie I could. Teenagers are more, not less likely to want to watch something because it's PG-13.

I doubt thats gonna happen. In the midst of all these crappy PG-13 movies a lot of good movies have come out recently. The Descent, High Tension, The Hills Have Eyes, Wolf Creek, Hostel...the list goes on. The popularity of horror seems to have risen and yeah, you'll get a lot of crap but you're sure to get some quality mixed in there. Directors know who the true fans are, even the critics can tell crap from quality.
