Does anyone here like Poppy Z. Brite? She is my fave horror writer. I especially like Drawing Blood and Lost Souls.

I read Lost Souls...I believe. Was there a trio of Vamps who hung out in New Orleans and drank all the time? I read that one, whichever it was. Can't remember, I remember liking it though.

Yup! That's the one they drank a lot of booze along with blood:) They were hard partying vampires.
Drawing Blood is a really cool one too. It's a haunted house story but super twisted and interesting. I especially like that one of the main characters is an underground cartoonist. In my opinion her most disturbing was Exquisite Corpse, it' super-gory and about 2 serial killers hooking up. Serial killer stories are always the scariest (as opposed to supernatural) because they could really be out there! |

Cool! If you liked Exquisite Corpse you should check out her 'The Crow' novel 'Lazarus Heart'. Major nasty killer action there and it fits in with the whole dark 'The Crow' vibe. I like her short story collections too.
