He released a hiphop/rnb album yeah, called...unpredictable, I think. Pretty damn solid and some fine supporting acts for a first album...

I know about the album and like the 3 songs I've heard from it. But since you put it on a rap list, I guess what I was trying to do is ask if there's some songs on there where he flat out raps? Not the half and half thing where he's not quite singing but kinda just harmonizing the rhymes.

Hip hop that doesn't suck
Not rap...true, his stuff is more towards rnb, an he doesn't rap HIMSELF, some of the artists on the ALBUM rap though (Ludacris, Twista, snoop, the game among a few others)...but I definately think the ALBUM comes under hiphop on the whole.
But, that could just by by my own definitions. To me, there's rap and rnb each on different ends of the scale, hiphop can fall anywhere between...combining or containing elements of either or both.
Yeah, like I said, it's more TOWARDS the rnb side of the scale, but yeah to me, the album's hiphop, and it doesn't suck...

I get what you're saying, hip hop is more of a generalization than rap.

nwa, public enemy, old wu tang, tribe called quest, de la soul, jurassic 5, kool keith (in his many incarnations), and some of that "chopped and screwed" shit too

I guess that's about all I like. I'm sure there's some more good stuff out there, I'm just more apathetic about music, and especially hip hop, than I was 5 to 10 years ago.
