It doesn't matter if they're the heroes in peoples eyes at all or if you root for them. If you start using that logic, then every movie is debatable. It's about how the movie portrays them. He is the villain plain and simple. You are not watching Micheal Myer's story unfold like you are The Firefly family in Devil's Rejects. You are watching Myer's victims as they are stalked by him. They are the leads, he is the villain.
