CHAPTER 15

INT. WEST COUNTY, REDCOCK FAMILY FARM, HOUSE - DAY

The Redcock house is an average two-story house, the exterior could use some fresh paint, other than that it's a pretty normal place. But on the inside, the sole resident of the house, CHARLES ROBERT REDCOCK sleeps at the kitchen table with his head in his arms. A motorcycle's motor can be heard outside, getting closer to the house. The newspaper sits in front of him, three empty beer bottles rest on top of it to keep the rotating fan from blowing it away. A shadow is suddenly cast over him, a knock comes from the screen door. He lifts his head. His long, scraggly hair and beard obscure most of his face. His brown jumpsuit is covered in black stains and one red one across his chest. He walks to the door, BRIX steps inside. He's much taller than Charles.

CHARLES
Hey, Brix. Long time no see. How's the flamethrower treatin' ya?

Brix notices the beer bottles

BRIX
You're still drinking?

CHARLES
Yeah, I only drink when I'm not working. But you're the only person who hires me. I guess I should figure out a way to advertise. You think they would give bus bench space to a guy who makes weapons?

BRIX
I have a new-

Brix notices the red stain on Charles' jumpsuit.

BRIX
What's that?

CHARLES
Some kids a few farms over had a party, apparently they didn't appreciate ol' Haystack trying to have a good time. Luckily I had my toolbelt, lost one of my wrenches running from the parents though. Anyway, you have a new what?

BRIX
You ever consider trying your hand in vehicles?

CHARLES
Tried it, perfected it. I have a button under the steering wheel of my truck that can fire a bullet out of the exhaust pipe. I don't think I'd ever need it but it starts some great conversations.

BRIX
I want a van.

CHARLES
No problem. I still have an old junker I could fix up from my Deadhead years. What kind of toppings do ya want?

BRIX
I want it to be bulletproof, with tinted windows and plenty of space for my chopper and my weapons.

CHARLES
Invincible with room for toys. Got it.

BRIX
Good, I'll pay you when it's done.

Brix turns to walk out.

CHARLES
Give me a few days.

BRIX
Of course.

Brix continues walking.

CHARLES
Oh, by the way-

Brix turns around.

CHARLES (Cont'd.)
Do you want me to paint it? I mean, green isn't that scary and "Shaggin' Wagon" written on the side probably isn't intimidating either.

BRIX
Paint it.

CHARLES
Great, thanks for your continued business.

Brix walks out the door and hops onto motorcycle and speeds off of the Redcock Family Farm. Charles walks downstairs into the basement and opens up a closet in the far end of the room. He walks down to-

INT. WEST COUNTY, REDCOCK FAMILY FARM, WORKSHOP - DAY

A huge workshop, the tables are littered in metal pieces and tools, a ramp leads up to an empty aircraft hanger on the property to allow the entry and exit of vehicles. The van is already in the workshop, bright green, the windows have Grateful Dead stickers on the back and just as he said, "Shaggin' Wagon" is written on the side.

CHARLES
Goodbye Shaggin' Wagon. Hello Meat Train.
