I've been to the movies by myself, and didn't see anything wrong with it. For a long while, I was the only one I knew that really had an appreciation for horror films so no one would go with me...
But I find it better now, my husband and I go together, and he is there when the inevitable happens and someone pisses me off. I'm usually pretty passive, and non confrontational.....being in a movie theater tends to bring out the worst in me, and often I just can't enjoy the movie. If I go, there is going to be some weirdo that is going to do something that freaks me out (I lived near Atlanta WAY too long :p ), or someone is going to be talking during the film, or texting during the film (seriously WTF? why would someone do that?). So having him there calms me down, and makes it less likely that I will end up being locked up by the end of the night. Haha. This is why I prefer watching films in the comfort of my own home.
Its not so bad these days though I have to admit. The theater here is small, there is never too many people there, so there is plenty of room. But the down side of that is, he only shows two films at a time....and they usually aren't films I want to see. So to see the good stuff, we have to drive an absurdly long time.
