regarding censorship "censorship sucks".

In there I'd metioned that in the UK, in 1993 a boy (Jamie Bulger)was killed by two other boys. The press had a field day saying it was horror films to blame. Then subsequently banned certain films which where scheduled to be shown on the terrestrial tv channels

A similar incident happened this year when again a boy was killed by supposedlly acting out a scene from a game "manhunt".

In both cases the verdict was not proven. it could not be determined whether films or games was the reason for the crime.

Many high street stores took the game off the shelves, while others had a strict age guideline for sales, which as far as Im aware Manhunt over here is rated as an 18, as is the new GTA game.

But some chidren have managed to see/play the game still, obviously parental supervisionshprs retail code is sadly lacking.

Re- horror films in general again from my thread; the majority of people realise that horror, or other such fantasy films are just that; forms of fantasy entertainment where at the end of the day, you can switch off if it's too scary or disturbing/simply not buy or rent it in the first place.

to simply blame horror and games for the violence is just a poor excuse and perhaps we should look at ourselves first.
Reminds me of Bowling for Columbine

He was interviewing Marylin Manson, who was a favourite artist of the boys who commited the shootings. Partially, their violent behavior was b;lamed on him, of course. But Manson had a great counter point. More bombs were dropped in Kosovo the morning of the shootings then any other time during the war. Now, think for a sec. Everything gets blamed on Horror movies, violent video games, and rock music, when the governement contributes most of the violence in the world. Can you say.... WTF?
