Something about the main girl in the movie bothers me a lot......I saw it in theaters, and then bought it but I cant bring myself to watch it. I just like the begining part where the little boy gets pulled under his bed. I think if they stayed kids the entire time it would have been a better film.

The whole movie bothered me. I think if they would have made the little clown things be killing people i think it wouldve been better

I liked how you didnt get a full shot of "Them" until the end, so you had to piece together what one would look like.
Anybody watch the alternate ending? Both ending were very effective, but I think I perfered the one they used. |
the idea of staying away from the dark and awake/alert was kind of appealing in both movies ... like the 'dont fall asleep' theme in the Elm Streets.
Its something we can all identify with : how long could we go without sleep if our lives depended on it..when would it just not be worth it - as sleep deprevation is a form of torture. I have a hard time staying up till midnight on new years eve so it has a special fascination for me. |
Please don't compare crap like "Darkness Falls" to unique and intriguing psychological horror like "They".:D

This movie is a good horror movie IMO guys. The problem is it tries to be intriguing and mysterious, at the same time it tries to be scary and frightening. But it only winds up being confusing. I mean what were *They*? Why did *They* want these kids? Too many unanswered questions. I did however figure out the whole lights thing. They aren't afraid of lights. Their world is darkness. So the only way they can connect with our world, is through darkness. A dark room here kind of acts as a portal connecting our world with theirs. When the dark is broken by light, they phase out of our reality, and the connection is broken. Kind of like you can only see your shadow in a dark room in the lighted part of the room. But without that light, your shadow basically doesn't exist. When that night terror leapt at Terri in the air duct, her lighter broke the connection their world had with the darkness in our world. Thus the creature simply jumped at her, but it landed back in it's own dimension.
