Night of the Demons (1988)
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...ons_poster.jpg The acting is utter shit but the special effect makeups are decent enough and it's actually pretty fun. |
I not concern my a-hole roommate say about the Sinister Man. He brilliant in this movie!! ::love::

It was fairly silly/bad. Angela Lansbury was fairly awful. However the transformation scene in the early part of the film was great. I mean it looks very fake by our standards, but it was great for back then(1984). I skimmed the last 20 minutes. You get to see a briefly naked Danielle Dax. Shrug. I'd just watch the transformation scene on youtube and skip the film. 4/10 |

CUJO (1983). Feel that this has aged well and enjoyed it more than when I saw it back when. Dee Wallace is quite good in the scenes involving the title pooch and a few boffo scares. Did feel sorry for the dogs, having to wear all that makeup::big grin::.***

Slipstream 1989
Basically after a global apocalypse there's this corridor of intense wind people fly on 'strange' looking planes. I didn't get very far. Its quite bad. Not much more to say really. Acting, dialogue, etc. So bad. |
CHILDREN SHOULDN'T PLAY WITH DEAD THINGS 1972
So bad yet so good. A group of actors spend the night on an island where their egocentric dick of a director hopes to raise the dead. To what end, I'm not sure, but he is successful after a few false starts. I liked it. Maybe you would too. |

Poltergeist (1982)
I have a bit of a confession to make. I've never really sat down and put my entire attention towards the original Poltergeist. The last time I saw it was when I was much younger, and I had no clue what was going on. Anyway, Poltergeist is without a doubt one of the great 80's classics, not only in horror, but in all genres. I loved almost every second of it. It had some great scary scenes and an awesome score. The movie allowed its audience to really identify and sympathize with the Freelings because of all the character development, and that's what makes this movie stand out from all the other supernatural flicks of its time. 9/10 |

I really think it's not fair to compare the remake to the original because they're both completely different. The remake has more in common with Insidious and The Grudge than the original Poltergeist. It has that dark lighting and fluid cinematography that a lot of modern ghost flicks have, and it's a lot more jumpy than the original. |

Finally got to finish my rewatch of 'Friday the 13th part 1', and even got part 2 in. So many movies I have yet to watch once and I decided to rewatch another series XD

Dracula A.D. 1972
|
LAIR OF THE WHITE WORM 1988
Really don't know how I missed this one..british cheesy horror and all. A vampy snake woman, ludicrous hallucination scenes and beautiful U.K. countryside shots. |
Sleepaway Camp III Teenage Wasteland

Abel Ferrara's Driller Killer - 1979 One of splatter punks finest moments.

DEAD AND BURIED (1981). Extremely quirky but damn good with a stellar performance by Jack Albertson (The Man from CHICO AND THE MAN), his last. ****

The Creature From Black Lake
One of my favorite bigfoot movies. I'm not saying it's a great movie, because I think my love of Cryptid related films clouds my judgement on such things, but to me, this movie represents all that is good about 1970's drive-in super crap. It's cheesy, it's pace is leisurely, the creature is a man in a hairy suit, and you get Dennis Fimple, John David Carson, Jack Elam and Dub Taylor to boot! |
