You should check out Savage Streets and Tenement if you haven't already and of course Class Of 1984. |

I didn't like that one. The best looking chick died. That's horrible!! |
Dark Night Of The Scarecrow
Had a lot of potential to be a cool slasher but it was rather disappointing. Maybe it was better if I didn't expect it to be one. It was funny seeing the bad guy from Darkman playing a mentally handicapped adult. Quite the contrast. |
I thought it was pretty good especially for a TV Movie.

Went to Retro Movie Night at Movie Tavern, and saw "Working Girl".

Jaws 2! Great film and highly underrated. Quite a few startling moments too.

Electric Dreams.
I'd always heard the song, wondered about the movie. Hm. Not bad. Interesting to see some AI/tech impressions and ideas that were quite ahead of their time. Kinda funny. Not a bad time killer. Virginia Madsen has always been pretty nice to look at too. |
THE HOWLING (1981)
RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD (1985) BRIDE OF FRANKENSTEIN (1935) Good times!::smile:: |
Scanners
Finally got around to see this movie. And I'm actually glad the first time I watched was as a "grown up" person (I'm in my early thirties). Movie itself, some things didn't make a lot of sense, one or more continuity errors, but it was great anyway. The cast, over the top acting, eighties explosions,... For some reason I link the exploding head to Dumb & Dumber's most annoying sound in the world. |
Spookies (1986) Not bad. It kept you guessing and surprised by what it threw at you, you really didn't know what was going to happen next as the film goes on. What it lacked in cohesion it made up for with variety there were some great "spookies".

The Amityville Horror (1979)

Chopping Mall (1986)
Quite enjoyed this one. Much better than I expected. The soundtrack reminded me of old videogames. |
HOUSE OF DARK SHADOWS (1970)-They really cram a couple of years into 90 minutes and really more for fans of the TV series. However, it's a lot more bloody and violent than the show, playing out much of the time like a Hammer film from the period. Still miles above the horrible Tim Burton misfire. ***1/2

Monkey Shines
Good movie. I recognised Bates from Californication in the lead role. Reminds me, I still haven't seen Shakma. Worth it? |

Shakma is great, a lot better than Monkey Shines. Have you seen Link? That's a good one too. |
The Curse (1987)

The Curse, didn't care for it. Although the over ripe bleeding tomato scene had me in tears because I was laughing so hard, so I guess I have at least one fond memory from the movie.

PATRICK 1978
From Australia, a film about a young man Patrick who lays in a coma in hospital and the nurse who cares for him. He wants her for himself and lets all involved know it. Pretty decent. |

Contained the usual 80s b-horror acting and overly clichéd characters that you couldn't help but to hate. But the movie was goood. :) Thanks for mentioning this, guys! "Spookies" 7/10 |

THE DEMONS OF LUDLOW 1983
A small town...a curse....a piano. Random but not bad. |
Lifeforce (1985)
Based on the book Space Vampires. And that's what the movie's about. The (over)acting's pretty good, story wasn't bad either but the movie was about a half hour too long. |
FRIGHT NIGHT (1985). one of my all time favorites that is funny, scary and doesn't test your patience. Too bad the sequel was less than good. *****

I've been watching a lot of 70s and 80s horror lately. The last few were Happy Birthday To Me, Deadly Friend, Someone's Watching Me, Eyes of a Stranger, Terror Train, and The Fog.

THE HOUSE THAT DRIPPED BLOOD 1971.
Pretty much loved this.. Mr.Lee and Mr.Cushing..oh my. |
Halloween 4 The Return Of Michael Myers (1988)
|
"Visiting Hour" 6-7/10
Too repetitive, but Michael Ironside was of course perfetly casted as the ice cold serial killer who terrorizes a hospital. |

RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD (1985). Always liked this one. Pretty visceral, but decent soundtrack (had it on vinyl) and lots of humor, especially by James Karen. For a couple of months, would call friends/brother and say when they answered "I know you're there...'cause I can smell your brains!"::big grin:: ****
