I was going to buy this the other day because it was so cheap might have to do so seeing as I've heard good things about it.

BH14 07-02-2005 07:41 PM

I recommend Session 9 as well... Its a good movie that should be in everyone's DVD collection... Good unpredictable story and a nice twist on the ending.

Friday night watched The Grudge
Saturday night watched Ladder 49

The_Return 07-03-2005 04:53 AM

Watched Nightmare Castle and Creature from the Haunted Sea last night.

Nightmare Castle- Pretty good, cool plot. The dubbing was laughably bad though.

Creature from the Haunted Sea- Friggin amazing movie. Loved how it was intentionally funny. Some great laughs in this one:)

star wars 3 - the sith thingy.
downloaded an SVCD that looked like a DVD - with the opening scroll in russian ! :)

i thought it was a big mess. tons of nice effects - a 'too little too late' attampt to humanize the characters ...

it was pretty much what i expected ..

"Team America" - Unrated. Very funny for the most part (the extended sex scene is a bad taste GEM!) but it's overly padded and thus too long. Losing a good 10/15 minutes would have helped it a great deal. Some wonderful jokes and politically incorrect splashings though.

Really? I just got in and loved it...I was on the edge of my seat the whole time! ;) I thought it was really intense.

42ndStreetFreak 07-03-2005 07:51 PM

Brit Horror flick "Creep". Far better than some of the (other) ill-judged reviews on The Net would have you believe, despite the rather large logic hiccups during the set-up

I have heard it is great until the end. I will wait for DVD.

Last movies watched: Dawn of the Dead and then The Wizard of Oz. :D

Dakota Fanning is annoying as hell, Tom Cruise does his usual "Get down!" sort of bullshit, and the ending is a little... meh. I read the book so I knew the ending (roughly). But still, it was an action flick and it just halted... I was all "Oh man!" and my friend was like "I know!"

bloodrayne 07-03-2005 09:12 PM

Shanghai Knights...Again...

WHAT?!...The kids were watching it:p

I agree the ending could have been a little better, but it wasn't terrible. The rest of the movie more than made up for it...for me anyway :)

Nah I just don't think he would've suited it at all. As I said Micheal Keaton would be the one.

AUSTIN316426808 07-03-2005 10:30 PM

that would be cool to see him in another Batman movie, although it would be funny watching it without him being Batman

BH14 07-03-2005 10:40 PM

Just finished "Nightmare" which is a korean horror movie... Its a asian horror story with a twist of slasher. If you like Prom Night or Carrie, you should check this out. Good plot, nice twist and you will laugh couple times with the dubbed english. I give it an 8/10.

urgeok 07-04-2005 06:50 AM

Sahara ..

not so hot (pardon the pun)
... always fun to see Steve Zann ..
pretty boring and predictable otherwise

Watched a couple of Korean Horror movies ...

Acacia ... the tale of a boy and his ... erm tree

and

The Doll Master ... neat little "popcorn" slasher flick

movieman64 07-04-2005 09:22 AM

I hate to admit it, especially in a Horror group, but I took the kids to see "Kicking and Screaming" at the second run theatre. They loved it, and it was less then $20.00 for all 5 of us.

42ndStreetFreak 07-04-2005 09:34 AM

"Chisum"

Marroe 07-04-2005 10:06 AM

yesterday I went out to see War of the Worlds, and I stayed up to watch The Jacket when I came home.
BOTH GOOD!

The_Return 07-04-2005 10:49 AM

Had some people over last night, watched a few:

Session 9- Stiil kicks ass
the NEW TCM- Had some ok moments, but pretty shitty overall
The Fly ['86]- See note for Session 9:P
Pumpkinhead- Awesome movie. Definatly better than your typical slasher, I loved it, very fun movie:D
