"Dirty Girl" 7/10

Cute. Gay but cute.

Could've done without the singning in the end. That was painful to watch.

ZombieDrone 03-07-2012 02:11 PM

I watched Vamp.

Interesting little film about VERY 80's vampires.

One thing is though, I don't understand why it's Grace Jones being sold as "sexy". I imagine if you're into Amazonian women, then fair enough. But that's not my scene (and that dance sequence was just weird) but as for the waitress Amaretto, she was nice. More my type.

Oh, and it has Gedde Watanabe which can't be bad...

Angra 03-07-2012 02:45 PM

"Julia's Eyes" 8/10

Hitchcock would've been proud.

Love this movie. I really want to pick up the sweet Arrow R2 release of it:

Went through a few films between last night and today:

- Resident Evil: Extinction
- Cursed
- People Under the Stairs
- Halloween 2

...I've seen them all before, but I more or less had them on as background noise as I got some work done, lol.

Ha I used to do that all the time. Was Halloween II the new one or the old one? I like both but the original is an underrated sequel just like Psycho II

it had it's moments but it just took from other movies and was like i had seen this before, this was, in my opinion, a ponderous, badly scripted, poorly thought out affair. Must have looked at my watch about five times after the first half hour.

isnt there already a horror movie with that name

leezuki 03-08-2012 09:11 AM

the hitcher (original) still one of my fave movies.

Tony Vilgotsky 03-08-2012 01:17 PM

Demon Wind. One of the "legendary" movies of my childhood, which I have never seen till I got adult. Not disappointed but also didn't discover anything new there.

Well, actually we have here a few pretty strong horror movies made in undergound community, but when it comes to wide screen, the situation is very sad.

Ah I think I know what you mean I'll check out the other film you recommended I will probably notice a huge difference.

Fearonsarms 03-09-2012 11:46 AM

Meridian (1990) Charles Band directed modern take on the Beauty and The Beast story only watch if that interests you.

Strip Nude For Your Killer (1975) Highly offensive giallo that has lots of bare flesh and blood on offer to cravers. Directed by Andrea Bianchi who would later make Burial Ground. Didn't engage me at all though I neither sypathized with the victims or cared who the killer was-one for the genre's fans only.

i thought that was a good movie as well, not just your average comedy good story with it. i felt sorry for the gay dude with his parents.

old 80's B movie, crap now, but i still like it.

The Villain 03-11-2012 09:03 AM

A Good Old Fashioned Orgy

This was surprisingly funny and enjoyable. The characters felt real and i liked how they werent trying some big money making stunt to save the house. They just wanted one more big blowout to remember each other. I also liked how the whole thing didnt blow up in the main characters face as that always seems to happen. Tyler Labine is hilarious and i hope to see him in a lot more.

Thus, we came to the absolute absence of horror movies in Russia:D. That's one of the reasons that I'm on this forum now instead one of the Russian forums:)

this movie was ok, a bit slow to start of with and it killed some time. Something to watch if your bored.

THE WOMEN IN BLACK...it was actually pretty good in my opinion

There is a need. Movies you mean are not looks like horror. They're looks like shit:D
But life of the man surrounded by all this shit spreading from "every fridge" - this is a real horror, here you're right.

ImmortalSlasher 03-12-2012 05:46 AM

Attack the Block.

Pretty good. I was surprised at the characters because I went in just thinking this was an aliens against a block movie. Not an aliens vs bad kids movie. Still it's funny at times and the dialog is great.

leezuki 03-12-2012 07:30 AM

the sitter, i found quite funny. 6/10

Fearonsarms 03-12-2012 09:27 AM

The Ghostly Galleon (1974) Despite the title this is actually the third "Blind Dead" film (the awesome Tombs Of The Blind Dead (1971) being the first and the patchy Return Of The Evil Dead being the second). This film was a complete return to form for the series as the second film was too messy. Tons of dark brooding atmosphere and unlike the huge bodycount of Return Of The Evil Dead this is a lot more focussed as the death scenes are more OTT and really well drawn out to keep you wanting more. And fans of the first movie will be glad to hear that the ending is genuinely jawdropping and the cinematography of it is mind blowing. Creepy as hell and highly recommended. As an added note I'll point out that this is dubbed in english where the previous films were in spanish with english subtatles.

Straker 03-12-2012 04:42 PM

Fright Night (rehash): Didn't think much of it, they changed up alot of the plot and character dynamics from the original, but really didnt add a whole lot. The acting was wooden, most of the cast seemed like they were on auto-pilot.

Guilherme 03-12-2012 05:27 PM

Don't Be Afraid Of The Dark i'm not sure about this movie, it's nice but the ending could be a lot better in my opinion.

Love them

Really. But there was an attitude. Most of those movies weren't made just "for to be", they included the warning, the criticism (Love Day, for example), good acting and directing. Could we say the same about modern stuff?
No:(

You guys should start a thread on Russian cinema. I'd be into reading up on it and checking out anything interesting :)

I liked that one. Always good to see Tom Atkins on the screen.

Recoil

I dug this one. Just a straight up old school action flick... with bikers and Steve Austin fighting Danny Trejo!

Angra 03-13-2012 03:17 PM

"Heartless" 6/10

There was something very Donnie Darko over that lead character.

I agree....I wasn't sure it was him at first, with the dark glasses on. I was expecting him to say "Thrill Me."
