Don't know why this seems to be so hated, I really loved the concept! Far better than most of the offerings in the franchise, and I appreciated the sparing use of Freddy. The ending was good right up until the fairly slapstick fight with the Freddy-Demon...didn't quite catch the right tone for me. |

I hated it. I found it slow paced and boring, not to mention the fact they made Freddy into a child molester. |

Honestly? No. 1 is my favorite, 2 and 3 are close competition for number 2. New Nightmare is probably my least favorite of the franchise other than the remake. |

Inside
Being a huge fan of New French Extreme films, I had heard countless times that 'Inside' was incredible, shocking, and utterly disturbing. It took me a very long time, but I finally watched it earlier.
I think it's an atrocity. One of the worst pieces of shit I've ever seen. I think it has SO much potential, but it failed to deliver any character development, shocks, or awe. The terrible CGI baby scenes? C'mon.. Those were just terrible. If you've seen the film, I'm very curious to know what you think about it. I'd never bash anyone's opinion, no matter how much I disagree with it. I'd rather hear what you liked/disliked about it. |

I remember several people telling me to avoid it, but since I'm studying postmodernism in film, I thought it was high time I gave it a watch and I'm as confused as you as to why people dislike it! |

I honestly can't put my finger on it. It has never been able to keep my attention. Maybe I'll try it again as its been years but from what I do remember it just didn't feel like a NOES. |

take shelter, enjoyed this movie alot. 7/10
Plagued by a series of apocalyptic visions, a young husband and father questions whether to shelter his family from a coming storm, or from himself. prince of darkness, i think this could still be john carpenters best movie. 8/10 bird with the crystal plumage. 7/10 |
A Serbian Film
So, I'm a total extreme film junkie, and I've heard a lot of hype about A Serbian Film. I watched it last night, and maybe I don't have a soul, or I'm a bit too seasoned in extreme cinema, but I didn't find it disturbing at all.
Anyone else seen it? Care to share your thoughts? |

>> The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2011) : C The Swedish adaptation was far better than this. I didn't get what made them to screw with Harriet's (the 'murdered' or missing niece of Henrik Vanger) identity at the end. Anyway, a wasted effort from Fincher. >> The Sleeper (2012) : D+ >> The Hunter (2011) : B >> Children of the Corn: Revelation (2001) : C+ >>: A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas (2011) : B |

Watching The Happening right now.

Now watching Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. I will never understand why the U.S. felt the need to change the title.

Take Shelter
http://i1101.photobucket.com/albums/...R00214317_.jpg I thought this was going to be more about the apocalyptic visions but instead it turned more into a movie about a guy going crazy. Not that that's a bad thing, it just wasnt what i expected but it turned out to be a very good movie and Michael Shannon's acting was excellent. After watching him play the very wooden Nelson Van Alden it was nice to see him play a character with some range and emotion. Chronicle http://i1101.photobucket.com/albums/...1_SY317_-1.jpgs The first part of this movie is pure fun. The movie expertly captures how a bunch of teenagers would act if they got superpowers and Andrew's home life and angst were done really well to the point that you could see his downfall coming. It didnt exactly progress the way i thought it would but it was still good and the way the camera work was done should please those who get annoyed or disappointed from certain found footage aspects. |
Alien (Director's Cut)
It's been a while since what I'm assuming was the original 1979 cut so I really can't remember what's new or what's cut out (the Blu Ray I bought has both versions, so I'll probably revisit the original cut soon). Even so, I love this movie! The set design is marvellous and you can see huge influences from 2001 and from Star Wars as well as a lot of similarities with what was to come in Blade Runner. Hopefully Prometheus won't dissapoint as I didn't particularly like Aliens (or Terminator for that matter. Is there something wrong with me as a sci-fi fan when my favourite James Cameron film is Titanic?) |

"Canyon" 7/10
First 30 minutes were really entertaining, funny and well acted. Last 70 minutes were just well acted. For shame. Still a decent watch. "Flypaper" 5/10 First 15 minutes were really entertaining, funny and well acted. Last 70 minutes were just overacting. Almost gave me a headache. |
Loved The Woman in Black. It brought me back to the old Hammer films with Cushing and Lee. Lots of atmosphere, creepiness, and a couple of jumpy moments. At first it was difficult to look at Radcliffe and not see Harry Potter but that didn't last too long. I think he did a pretty good job of portraying Arthur Kipps. The only thing I didn't like was that you were left with a few questions. I won't bring them up here until more people have seen it.
