As a member of the restaurant-working community, Sunday morning church people are the bane of my existence. Picky and demanding and bad tippers. :p :mad:

I tip 25% and if the service was good,up to 40%.
This is a damn hard job and a very underrated service,and people in this field should treated with RESPECT!

I tip nothing if I get no sweet tea refills and an attitude,but the upside to that is I never go there again and tell all my friends not to go there:D

Your tipping system is very unusual to me.
I think our award wages here are generally much better...I mean if theres tipping done here, nobody really calculates it, even in upper class kinda restaurants...yep, I think out guys 'n girls are just generally better taken care of for cash.
We currently have a nationwide minimum award wage here, that's around $15.60AUD per hour (I think...last time I checked anyhows) which would be maybe $10-11 USD Per Hour?
Not saying I don't tip a couple bucks here and there if the service is good, but its nice to know that the people in our food service industry will more often than not get by without it.

As a server, I only make $3.09 per hour. The minimum wage over here is $5.15(?) per hour. So If I dont get tipped, I dont even make minimum wage. I work with lots of girls who have 3 kids at home to care for. Tipping is muy importante.

So is being a little more careful...I mean...you know what I mean, silly situation to put ones self in.

No doubt, knowing this, if ever I were to live over in the US (not that I would ever really wanna), I'd happily help out with the tip thang.

In the great USA,anyone in service related careers are treated like sub-humans and get paid enough that they get to live in the "working poor" class.
I complain a great deal about customer service in my town-it is atrocious,I won't lie.But a part of me understands that people like me-smiling and friendly-are RARE.
Most of the time these guys are treated with rudeness and snobbery,so I let the nasty attitudes slide until I feel like banging my head against a wall and usually tell the clerk or the waitress/waiter-"Have A Nice Day" and mean it.

And Cheeba-I have no idea what AUD means.
