8/10

"Horrible bosses" 4/10

Wasn't amused. Just annoyed. Especially by the little whiny fuck who refused to fool around with his hot sex craving boss. Sooo not believable. Hope i'll never see him again in another movie. Gave me a headache.

iCreazil 10-05-2011 03:36 PM

Insidious on Blu-Ray. Well, the storyline started out well but towards the end everything just seemed rushed and blew out of proportion. Yes, it has one or two jumpy moments in there but nothing to scare you. 5/10

Men Behind the Sun
I think this is one of the few movies I've seen that had a major impact on me. Some of the things that went on in this movie are incredibly disturbing. I felt really disgusted after watching it, yet absolutely loved it!

We Are The Night
A good fun vampire film, nothing special. :)

wasn't horrible.......nothing original....I didn't hate myself for wasting 89 minutes of my life.

Drive Angry.

Damn silly and "boring" action if ya digg. Not worth the watch.

Celebrating the month of Halloween...

Patrick (1978)

First time viewing and liked this Aussie super-psycho thriller.

>>: B+

Dark Night of the Scarecrow (1981)

A pretty sad & moving tale of injustice, revenge & horror. Liked it too.

>>: B+

Opera (1987)

2nd time viewing. One of my favorite Argento-Giallos.

>>: B+

Now, planning to have a Hammer's DRACULA movie marathon any day soon.:)

The fanboy in me enjoyed it, but this is an absolute unnecessary film. And, one of those movies whose twists makes your eye roll.

A childhood favorite, felt wonderful to revisit it. The infamous basketball death scene still has that shock quality. Another small detail which I noticed was, Anne Ramsey's TV was playing The Bad Seed!

Oh, and did I mention Kristy Swanson, the delicious dish and my childhood crush. (from this very movie!)

...back to back.

These 80s underraters really capture the essence of this season (maybe partly because they are horror films with a kid as the central character). Very enjoyable watches.

Real Steel
Entertaining. Better than I went in expecting, and I quite liked it.
I'd recommend it to fans of boxing films, because that's essentially what it was, yet another "underdog" story with a modern take.

I've never heard of those but they sound good. I'm gonna have to check them out.

horrorzack 10-09-2011 09:51 AM

Dream House

Do not be fooled by the trailers this is NOT a horror movie repeat NOT a horror movie! In the first 20 minutes it might seem like on but after the oh so obvious twist it turns into a mystery/drama but not a bad one at that. Do not think of "Dream House" as a horror movie and you just might like it. a good mystery/drama film not much horror.

The first 2 films were such good entries in the foreign slasher sub-genre, and it's a tad disappointing that this prequel falls well short of their quality. Nevertheless, it has some good cinematography and a couple of interesting kills, but sadly not much else. The background story of child abuse has been done before, and in much better fashion as well.

All in all, watch this if you are a completist fan of the Cold Prey (Fritt Vilt) films. If not, skip it and you won't be missing much. The first two are the good ones.

Agree. While first 2 are the 2 best slashers ever made (IMO) but this one disappointed me. It's turned out just another slasher in the woods flick.

Yeah? I thought it flowed pretty well for it's length and found the characters engaging. I dig character driven stuff a lot.

I love that movie and i don't even like werewolf movies but that is definitely one of the best. Probably my second favorite after An American Werewolf in London.

Mine too. I can't remember when or where I first saw it, but it's by far my favorite werewolf movie.

Jadeen Levana 10-09-2011 05:45 PM

Watched "Dont be afraid of the dark" by Guillermo del Toro like week ago.

It wasnŽt so scary in the beginning but it did attack several of my childhood fears such as monsters under the bed and creatures roaming in the dark and attacking children.

When it was over, I thought to myself "Oh well, at least IŽll be able to sleep well today"

I was horribly wrong...

With deference to the old classics those are my #1 and #2 as well with the Howling as #3.

I'd put Howling as my number 3 as well.

Ritualistic 10-09-2011 06:14 PM

not really horror but, to me, its a darker comedy. "The perfect host" is decent. if you like curdled and american psycho you will like it.

Ritualistic 10-09-2011 06:15 PM

I also watched "damned by dawn" if you like CGI watch it.

Sint AKA Saint
http://i1101.photobucket.com/albums/...R40214317_.jpg

Evil "Santa" movies are a hard sell i think. The genre is pretty gimmicky to begin with and i think filmmakers know this and as a result don't take it very seriously when making the movie. Really, the only good Evil Santa movie i've seen is Rare Exports.

The acting is really bad made even worse by the godawful dubbing. There's no buildup or attempt to create a scary mood and the movie doesnt focus on story or characters at all. Also the cops in the movie are really annoying. If that's really how the police are in Amsterdam, i fear for those people.

Maybe i would have enjoyed this more if i had watched it around Christmas time (even though its not a Christmas movie) but i dont think it would have helped.

newb 10-09-2011 10:09 PM

Tucker and Dale vs Evil

much buildup for this one.....didn't totally disappoint...a bit uneven in parts but very watchable.
