Actually I understand exactly why he was so upset with her. He was a completely despicable character and could at times be cruel, but really he seemed to be the most honest of the four central characters. He admitted to his infidelity almost right away, she didn't. And the circumstances were a little different. I don't want to add too many spoilers, so I won't say more than that. Let's just say he went into their marriage blind. She didn't. But all of the characters were creeps. Jude Law's character seemed to be touted as this grand romantic and he was every bit as slimy as the doctor in his own way, for all his obsession with the "truth" he sure as hell didn't seem to live it. Not a pleasant experience, overall. I will never watch it again, but admittedly there was some fine acting and it was brutally honest in a lot of ways. |

three enjoyable short films, somewhat controversial or should I say ethical content in 'Dumplings'. Watch it to see what you think. The other two got progressivly stonger visually, but of the three, I prefered Chan-Wook's 'Cut', the guy has a way with getting the best out of actors, even though I'm relying on subs throughout the film, you can sence they've put effort into their roles, I've not seen in other modern same genre asian titles. :) |
Paparazzi
Wasnt as bad as I was expecting. Actually, It was fairly enjoyable. Loved how he set everyone up....couple loose ends however.... |

i watched Deep Star 6
better movie than it gets credit for .. because of the likeable cast and a couple of good gore bits. it does have one of my 'stupid shit' hot buttons though .. where a giant homocidal crustacean monster is able to hide and swim silently in 3 feet of water ... a giant maniacle creature with no fear - apparently cooperated with the director - in that it would obligingly sneak around to build up suspense.. |

"Brother Of Darkness"
Pretty good CAT III shocker. |

actually he did an excellent role - it was more complex than you'd normally get - he wasn't a bad guy - just a bit of a complainer - and everything started going wrong for gim - often not his fault .. he ended up being misunderstood .. i felt for the guy .. |
Total Recall SE R2
|
Gotta love Total Recall...IMO, Arnies best...when I first saw it, man, I knew it was gonna be one of my alltime favourites.
I just watched Constantine for the first time. I'm unfamiliar with the comic Hellblazer upon which it was based...so, I can't really give a comparison. It was "interesting"...very VERY nice effects, the action wasn't anything special for the better part, but it was ok I suppose. I personally found the plot a little unneccessarily convoluted, and in parts, it felt very long, drawn out, and boring. Oh, and the dialogue, quite frankly, sucked. I AM glad I saw this film to satisfy my personal curiosity - I didn't love it, I didn't hate it. I'm pretty much mutual on this one, but seeing it again isn't something I'll be striving to do anytime soon. |
Anyone think that the whole of the plot WAS just part of the 'program' and that he was always plugged into the machine?
On further viewings there are lots of indicators that point to it. |
Well yeah...someone even mentioned during the film, and you also see it clearly by the ending, that he DOES get his "order" as per specification...

Batman Begins- 9/10
|
Posting this a little early. But im heading off to watch Maniac.

"Dead Birds". Overly slow, but has some good gore, some excellent visuals and FX and a nice creepy atmosphere.
Some of the dialogue is dreadfully muted though (the dialogue scene in bed was so bad i had to flick on the subtitles!) Something i see mentioned by others on the IMDB. And the twist was harder to grasp details wise once you really started to think about it. Good stuff though in general. |
Slumber Party Massacre..... really liked the dispatching of the killer in this one. Very cool 80s slasher.
