The idea of Adam Sandler in that role kinda bums me out.

The Thing

This was the first time I watched it. I should be bitch-slapped for not seeing it sooner. It goes directly into my top 10 horror films of all time.

Vamp

Lord what a flashback to the 80s - the hair, the clothes!

I forgot Gedde Watanabe was in this. Does anyone know - did he do this before or after Sixteen Candles?

Peter will have to find the Sacred Scroll that's been stolen from the Imperial Library. The scroll promises "supernatural powers to see through things and to let out power over great distances"... I know he can let out stuff over a great distance, not sure about the 'see through things' bit though.

:p

The last (new) movie that I saw was Mike Nichol's Closer. Obviously not a horror movie but it was brilliant. It's adapted from the Broadway play with Jude Law, Julia Roberts, and Natalie Portman all delivering fantastic performances(paticuliarly Law and Portman). It's a really sad movie though so be warned, by the time the credits began rolling and the beautiful score music was playing I fealt as though I had been punched in the face. That's how much it hurt to see how things worked out for Law's character in the end. It really just didn't seem fair at all and got me a bit angry but not enough to overshadow the fact that it's a wonderful film. Mike Nichol's(The Graduate, Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?) does his always awesome job as director and the screenwriter (can't remember his name) delivers a great script with lots of emotion and real chemistry between the characters.

Great flick overall, if you're a fan of out-there movies or tragically romantic betrayal than you'll enjoy this film as much as I did hopefully. I give it...

Dawn of the Dead 04 with Commentary. Not bad. one of the more interesting commentaries i have listened to.

Lemony Snickets: A series of Unfortunate Events.

Pretty godamn good. I loved the Happy Little elf :) Jim Carrey rocks in that movie.

urgeok 06-02-2005 07:08 AM

The Punisher (dolph lundgren)

Bah! My internet's been down:mad:

Anyway, I finally got around to seeing Saw. Id definatly go so far as to say this is one of the better horror movies made in the last couple of years. I had already been told by a friend of mine wo the killer turned out to be...but my god! I never thought a movie that I knew how it was going to end would screw with my head so much! Overall, I thought it was great.

Also, I finally got around to watching Hitchcock's The Lady Vanishes, which Ive owned for almost a year and havnt bothered to watch it. Very, very good movie, nicely blended intrigue and humour, with a nice little bit of romance added in for good measure. Michael Redgrave, who played Gilbert, was great, as was most of the cast. Definatly a great movie, pity rthat I put off watching it for so long!

bloodrayne 06-02-2005 06:32 PM

Rose Red...Again

ChEEbA 06-02-2005 07:52 PM

"Taking Lives"
Pretty decent...some fucked up shit, interesting M.O for the killer, but the movie - not all that..
As far as Jolie goes in thrillers, I much preffered the bone collector.

slasherman 06-03-2005 01:26 AM

gonna watch "Prom Night"(1980) tonight.........waiting for the remake.....:p

LAst night i watched Anchorman: The Legend of ROn Burgundy.
Fucking hilarious. I loved it. If possible, Will Ferrel was slightly over shadowed by Steve Carrel (Brick), possibly one of the funniest men alive.

Champ: I shit a squirrel this morning. Im not talking figuratively, i mean a real squirrel. And it was alive. So now i have this poo covered squirrel at my desk and i dont know what to name it.

Brick: Champ. I'm sorry i ate your chocolate squirrel....

or the best line in the movie:

Ron: Brick, where did you get a grenade?

Brick: I dont know.

movieman64 06-03-2005 05:47 AM

"Burnt Offerings" a Dan Curtis classic.

I also watched "Infection" it's by the same director who did Ju-On, and The Grudge.

It was very grudgeish, (is that a word?) but did have some very interesting twists.

i always loved him on the daily show... he is a genius. Have you ever seen his wife? He is married to Nancy Walls who was also on the Daily Show (and SNL). Good looking and funny as hell.

Brick's words of wisdom:

Where'd you get those clothes from, the toilet store?

I pooped a hammer.

I drank a lava lamp. It wasn't lava.

Hey, Ron! I'm riding a furry tractor!
