Well, I'm not from America myself...so whether or not it's an "american hating" film or not doesn't concern me. I personally don't think it WAS. Why do you think that, because it wasn't blatantly racist against the "other side"?, or because certain moral issues were raised that you didn't personally agree with? Things aren't neccessarily anti-american just because they're not done in a "god bless america and fuck everywhere else" kind of way. I thought it was an interesting, insightful film, with decent dialogue, and good atmosphere.
Not everything has to be all guns and explosions to retain MY interest.

There's no right and wrong in film choices, you just make yourself look like a childish dick when you carry on the way you do...

Cabin Fever Special Edition
I liked this movie. Hated Hostel. I hope his next film (pardon Hostel II) is more on-level with this one. It's loaded with extras, and was only 7$. Thought it was worth the purchuse.

Features that are actually worth watching, too. Not just the normal "making of" garbage, this actually has some cool stuff.

Make sure to check out "The Rotten Fruit"...friggin hilarious.

Interesting movie. I'm usually the first one to slam a movie for being over political (if it's not a political movie) and really I didn't see anything here that blasted America at all. This film was more about the people who were there and waiting, trained to kill and fight but having nothing to do. Can you imagine building yourself up to kill but have to sit around with all of that rage built up inside you? I don't know, seemed liked this movie focused more on the assault on the soldiers' psyche rather than the assault in the desert. Anyway, I liked Jarhead but I admit, I was underwhelmed. Maybe I'll check it out again who knows. ANYWAY...

Finally got Aracnaphobia in the mail wooohooo.

Bought it cheap myself not long ago, was planning to watch it tonight. Heared great things about it, will let you know what I think.

alkytrio666 10-28-2006 11:31 AM

Good to hear the positive remarks about The Relic. I'm excited.

And I'm even more excited because The Haunting (1963) finally came...it was backordered for a while from DeepDiscount. The flick is one of my favorite horror movies.

Remake is that bad?

Oh well...this set was only $10 more than the original on its own...It's still a bargain, no matter how bad the remake is:p

I didn't think the remake was that bad.

Very faithful, and the re-invented severance (you'll know what I mean when you see the original) is very cool.

Ah, good. Well the remake is worth a viewing or two just for the clever re-invention of that scene.

The_Return 10-29-2006 06:33 PM

Forgot to mention:

I won auctions on Ebay for Jason X and Wes Craven's New Nightmare.

Bidding on two other DVDs too...

Elvis_Christ 10-29-2006 06:41 PM

The remake is easily the worst horror movie of the year. Totally weak with some of the most self indulgent cinematography I've ever seen.
