12 Monkeys

neverending 09-28-2008 10:01 PM

I give up on this tourney. I stand by my prediction at the beginning of the whole thing.

jenna26 09-28-2008 10:07 PM

Mad Max....

GorePhobia 09-28-2008 10:09 PM

I will say 12 Monkeys but it's only by the smallest of margins over Mad Max.

Disease 09-28-2008 10:19 PM

12 Monkeys............

Bub the Zombie 09-28-2008 10:52 PM

12 Monkeys

Devil-Hunter 09-29-2008 12:03 AM

Mad Max....

Geddy 09-29-2008 01:02 AM

12 Monkeys.

Elvis_Christ 09-29-2008 02:18 AM

MAD MAX fuckin' kills 12 Monkeys you cunts have no taste :)

Kane_Hodder 09-29-2008 02:25 AM

12 Monkeys.
I think it's more sci-fi than Mad Max, which was an actioner set in the near future.

rofl...dont count on it, NE. And don't give up just yet, either.

There are still some twists left in this one...;)

6-3, 12 Monkeys leads over Mad Max.

More votes needed to decide this one...

The_Raven 09-29-2008 05:31 AM

12 Monkeys.

Gilliam's excellent visionary tale outshines Gibson's post-apocalyptic action film by a mile.

hammerfan 09-29-2008 05:36 AM

12 Monkeys

Agreed....................

_____V_____ 09-29-2008 06:15 AM

9-3, 12 Monkeys cruises through to a rather easy and smooth win over Mad Max.

This concludes the Quarter-Finals.

Semi-Finals start next...

wow

bastard of a choice.

But .... i'm going to go with The Thing

although the effects in Alien were top notch - The Thing blew the envelope wide open with the operating room scene .. inspired mayhem the likes of which have never been repeated so effectively.

also - and no one ever mentions this : i love the fact that the movie was about a group of scruffy old men.

i love women, but they are often just t&a in horror films.
Even Sigourney was exploited for her beauty in the underwear shots.
It's the one thing almost every horror movie tries to sell itself with - sex appeal ...

This Thing is unique in this - a very ballsy approach to the genre, and a lesser film would have worked - illogically - a woman in this as a love interest.

Again - i love women, and i love strong women, and i love scantilly dressed strong women even more .... but i always admired The Thing for it's simplicity...

sort of the way i admire a comedian who manages to be hysterically funny - without being dirty.

(and i like the dirty comedians too)

i realize i probably just dug myself a hole no one else will understand - oh well.

hammerfan 09-29-2008 06:48 AM

Have you had enough coffee today, dear? :D

Alien

newb 09-29-2008 07:14 AM

I enjoyed The Thing more

alkytrio666 09-29-2008 07:15 AM

The Thing.

Dante'sInferno 09-29-2008 07:18 AM

Alien......

The_Raven 09-29-2008 07:21 AM

I would say, The Thing.

More down to earth, more practical, and very scaringly realistic than Alien.

The_Raven 09-29-2008 07:31 AM

Very much so.

Kane_Hodder 09-29-2008 08:24 AM

Tough, real tough choice.
Ummm.....................okay, I will go with The Thing.

The_Return 09-29-2008 08:24 AM

The Thing!

Papillon Noir 09-29-2008 08:49 AM

Alien........

_____V_____ 09-29-2008 09:04 AM

6-4, The Thing leads by a slender margin over Alien in this battle of the modern sci-fi/horror masterpieces!

More votes needed to decide this dynamite match...

I completely get it, and you are right.

But my vote goes to alien because it is the very first horror movie i ever saw and molded who i eventually became.

jenna26 09-29-2008 09:35 AM

The Thing......

AUSTIN316426808 09-29-2008 10:54 AM

The Thing
..

GorePhobia 09-29-2008 11:03 AM

I am also going to have to go with The Thing.

Now if it was up against Aliens then it would be a different story.

Bub the Zombie 09-29-2008 11:53 AM

So hard.......

The Thing

Freak 09-29-2008 12:00 PM
