The Thing.....
|
9-8, The Thing wins over Frankenstein by a mere whisker.
Last Quarter-Final up shortly... |
|
12 Monkeys
|
I give up on this tourney. I stand by my prediction at the beginning of the whole thing.
|
Mad Max....
|
I will say 12 Monkeys but it's only by the smallest of margins over Mad Max.
|
12 Monkeys............
|
12 Monkeys
|
Mad Max....
|
12 Monkeys.
|
MAD MAX fuckin' kills 12 Monkeys you cunts have no taste :)
|
12 Monkeys.
I think it's more sci-fi than Mad Max, which was an actioner set in the near future. |

There are still some twists left in this one...;) 6-3, 12 Monkeys leads over Mad Max. More votes needed to decide this one... |
12 Monkeys.
Gilliam's excellent visionary tale outshines Gibson's post-apocalyptic action film by a mile. |

9-3, 12 Monkeys cruises through to a rather easy and smooth win over Mad Max.
This concludes the Quarter-Finals. Semi-Finals start next... |

wow
bastard of a choice. But .... i'm going to go with The Thing although the effects in Alien were top notch - The Thing blew the envelope wide open with the operating room scene .. inspired mayhem the likes of which have never been repeated so effectively. also - and no one ever mentions this : i love the fact that the movie was about a group of scruffy old men. i love women, but they are often just t&a in horror films. Even Sigourney was exploited for her beauty in the underwear shots. It's the one thing almost every horror movie tries to sell itself with - sex appeal ... This Thing is unique in this - a very ballsy approach to the genre, and a lesser film would have worked - illogically - a woman in this as a love interest. Again - i love women, and i love strong women, and i love scantilly dressed strong women even more .... but i always admired The Thing for it's simplicity... sort of the way i admire a comedian who manages to be hysterically funny - without being dirty. (and i like the dirty comedians too) i realize i probably just dug myself a hole no one else will understand - oh well. |
Have you had enough coffee today, dear? :D

The Thing.

Alien......
|
I would say, The Thing.
More down to earth, more practical, and very scaringly realistic than Alien. |

Very much so.
|
Tough, real tough choice.
Ummm.....................okay, I will go with The Thing. |
The Thing!
|
Alien........
|
6-4, The Thing leads by a slender margin over Alien in this battle of the modern sci-fi/horror masterpieces!
More votes needed to decide this dynamite match... |
Quote:
But my vote goes to alien because it is the very first horror movie i ever saw and molded who i eventually became. |
The Thing......
|
The Thing
.. |
I am also going to have to go with The Thing.
Now if it was up against Aliens then it would be a different story. |
So hard.......
