Cool pic..

Loks like some one else they thought they looked similar:

http://jimjamesson.com/wp-content/up..._henriksen.jpg

bruce macdonald looks alot like Ray Winstone.

Guy on the left looks like a young Brad Pitt but dreamier....

What else has the director done that worth checking out (or where should I start)?

FC - the film did amazing at the box office (especially considering the budget) - I thought it was pretty good but much like Blair Witch I can't see much replay value..

Should be called no activity, seriously, this film was so dull for the most part it was unbelievable. Think of a Blair Witch project set in Suburbia in order to make more people stay awake at night. However, on the other hand, it's particularly good for such a small budget. However, I don't think it'll survive long alongside some of the big wigs.

This film should be called No Activity. Slow build up, many loose ends and questions left unanswered. I understand we're meant to be clueless like them, but certain things like the flaming Ouija board didn't really need to be in there. Made worse by the constant screaming of nearby girls at every bump and creak (coughing on purpose at times of suspense was fun :D). The only bit worth watching is the last ten minutes, which is the only reason it reached as high as a C.

Watched it twice?

Dread (2009)

http://www.horror.com/php/uploads/2358_thumb.jpg

Three college students producing a documentary on the true nature of fear are slowly drawn into a world of nightmares when one member of the group begins exploiting the phobias of his fellow participants in hopes of seeking salvation from his own dark obsession.

As it is already selected for 2010's HORRORFEST 4, I should say this is going to be a great entry in compare to those "films to die for" of recent years. As on directorial debut Anthony DiBlasi pretty impressively adapted Clive Barker's short story of the same title. Pretty slick, dark & twisted, I liked it. The ensemble cast also delivered adequate performance that was needed.

Recommended.

I Know Who Killed Me.

Boring as hell, I only kept watching cause of my amputee fetish. Even that was lacking, what with the crazy artificial limbs and Lindsay Lohan being grossly Kate Moss, cocaine chic, skinny.

Rocky

I always forget how good this movie actually is, I wonder why I don't give it enough credit.

Maniac! (1980). With the exception of some of the worst acting that i have seen in a while, this was actually a great movie. The lead character, played by Joe Spinell, was chilling in its portrayal of a madman. Told from the point of view of the killer, we get to hear some of the inner dialogue that this psycho intrigues in, and this was probably more frightening than the actual kills. There are plenty of great gore scenes, especially for its time, with of course the one infamous scene that is still pretty shocking. The sound track was perfectly over the top, the direction was fine, and the camera work was splendidly playful. All in all a good time for the dedicated sicko. Ashe.

District b13: Ultimatum
It was ok, but not as good as the first IMO, storyline might've been slightly better but something just wasn't as "fun" in this one, I think the fight choreography was better in the first.
If there's a double pack I'd probably buy it.
If you liked the first, this is a decent follow up - cool music too.

Futurama - Benders game.
I haven't seen any of the feature length futuramas aside from this one so I'm not sure ow it rates. It was alright, fairly entertaining - though episodes of the show have exceeded it IMO.

Pop Skull (2007)

http://img689.imageshack.us/img689/8748/popskull.jpg

A very slow moving experimental Indie Horror that tells the story of Daniel, a pill addict utterly lost in a post breakup depression and struggling to maintain a fragile hold on reality and confused whether the visions he keeps catching sight of are actual ghosts or simple creations of his altered mind. The dark tone & atmosphere of the film sometimes able to delivered creepy & disturbing substances that are resulted from Daniel’s series of hallucinations & nightmares. Though this little dull weird flick definitely not for everyone but I think overall the effort is appreciable.

DSL was out for 5 days so I got to check out a lot of films...

2012 - Stunning visuals, weak direction and characters. Wtf Cusack?

Feast 2 - Seemed like some of the gore scenes were forcefully put in, just for the sake of being "gorific" (the monster-dissection one).
And the whole "baby-rescue" scene was really poor in taste IMO. Cant forgive the makers to have put this sequence into the film. It could have done without it.
On a side note, Jenny Wade has a really nice ass.

http://i434.photobucket.com/albums/q.../Feast_2_8.jpg

Looking forward to checking more of that soon.

Intruder - Always love this. Some of my favorite kills in this one.

A Night at the Roxbury - A guilty pleasure. Always loved it.

The Neverending Story - One of my all-time faves.

Flight of the Navigator - See above.

30 Days of Night - Great story, weak climax. Sort of like an anti-climatic ending really. For a strong villain, he went down rather "tamely". But still it kept my interest alive throughout so I am pretty keen on checking out where the sequel goes.

Dead Space: Downfall - Loved this.

In fairness the whole series prides its self on poor taste - the baby scene was pretty funny.

But the extended "everyone gets a facial from a corpse" scene was Oscar-worthy cinema right? You obviously don't "get" the Feast movies at all. The movies are basically an hour and a half each of gore scenes loosely held together by a "plot" just for the sake of being gory and over the top stupid fun. You're meant to nitpick and analyze the plot and thematic devices used in the film about as much as you should for a porno. Oddly enough all the films in question involve an inordinate amount of flying semen...

Hysterically funny spoof of the black action movies of the '70's. This film hits the nail on the head perfectly. The funniest film I've seen in years.

i 'get' the feast films.

i understand perfectly that the sole point of these films were to lampoon the genre and push the envelope of bad taste as far as possible.

in the fisrt film it succeeded. it felt fresh and fun.
the second film felt like it was made by giggling school boys trying to offend their grandparents.

i get what they were doing - but an endless string of gross out set pieces designed to offend (and aimed at a demographic that have already seen it all) collapsed on itself, taking me out of the movie completely.

feast 2 was the iceage 2 of horror films.

more isnt always better.

Blood Games

Basically "A League of Their Own" meets "I Spit On Your Grave."

In the deep South an all female baseball team wins a game against a bunch of good ol' boys. Don't ask. Just accept it. Of course they can't be allowed to live for embarressing them like that...

Silly and stupid as you'd expect. Enjoyable for those that appreciate such things.

Lunacy (2005). This Czech flick by Jan Svankmajer has it all: it's dark, blasphemous, disturbing, funny, and philosophic. This is Jan's notion of a horror film, but it is much more than just that. Blending elements of Poe and Sade, Jan uses them to put together a wonderful study of the treatment of insanity and then uses it to make a statement about society itself. His use of stop motion animation here brilliantly reveals the insanity that comes seeping out of the woodwork after each ludicrous scene. The acting was great, though some may find the "looking into the camera" scenes a little weird. With great direction, wonderful camera work, wild animation (tongues crawling in and out of beer glasses, sans owners), disturbing imagery (loved the view from outside of the horse buggy), like i said, this one has it all. Ashe.
