Just bought the double film boxset (a glaring omission from the collection) and was going to do the same thing next weekend when ive got a few days off work and can relax with a couple of cold ones.

Train scene is quality, really like Bill Paxtons character here as he shows he not just a cocky loud mouth.

Cold Prey. Pretty average though enjoyable killer thriller. Ashe.

Five Minutes Of Heaven (2009)

http://img505.imageshack.us/img505/3...sofheaven1.png

Set in Northern Ireland, the film is about how violence shatters lives, and whether 'revenge' can always find its way to cover up the loss & grief or how hate and regret can meet and be resolved. The story starts with Joe Griffen's meeting with Alistair Little through a TV docu program. 25 years ago, Little (Liam Neeson) murdered Griffen's brother for nothing more than being Catholic...he watched his brother murdered, and later blamed by his own mother for doing nothing to stop it (though he was only nine). Now he is eager to take his revenge as soon as he come face to face...he wants to have his five minutes of heaven.

Compelling movie, recommended.

Pretty cool. I wasn't sure about some of the casting. But all in all great fun well worth my trip to the cinema.

I definitely agree. I had a really great time with this one.

I enjoyed this, it made me think more about what I'm doing at the moment as well or more so what I am not.

7.5/10

Now watch Days of Wine and Roses, with Jack Lemmon. Edwards took the disturbing subject matter of Wilder's film and one-up'd it. Phenomenal performances and a very heavy story. It's a must-see, especially after The Lost Weekend.

Sure thing, I'll track it down...

Sounds pretty good, I'm always up for seeing another revenge flick.

Let the Right One In

Beautiful film, in every sense of the word.

not entirely a revenge flick rather should say an intense drama but definitely worth a watch indeed.

my bloody valentine - (remake) - not bad - good gore - excellent nudity.

Terminator - Salvation
- enjoyed it - up to par action sequences .. i quite liked the new star of this movie - i'd like to see him in something else.
Bale was wasted - not sure why he was even in this .. or got top billing ..
Not as good as the other films but i still enjoyed it.

simon pegg was definately miscast .... but it didnt really hurt the film that much

Disease 05-25-2009 08:33 AM

The Bank Job

A bit slow to get going, but then it turned in to a pretty good story. Not very heavy on the action and could have done with a few more laughs, but not to bad.

Star Trek

A very good film that, although it contained time travel and was a prequel (which is pretty much a recipe for mass confusion and plot holes) I was very satisfied. In fact, they explained it all perfectly for me, meaning I didn't have to sit there working things out like I do with most time travel films, until I fully understood or came to my own conclusions to fill the plot holes. Some of the action sequences were okay and there was a romance in there that didn't fit at all. I especially liked the casting for Chekov and Bones. The trouble was, as good as the film may have been, the story didn't particularly grip me.

Alligator 2: The Mutation

What can be said about this one? Nowhere near as good as the first (which is strange as there is very little difference) but still enjoyable....................to a point.

The Reader (2008)

I liked this one a lot. Kate Winslet was fantastic in it and it's one of the best films of 08' I've yet to see.

"The Reflecting Skin" 8/10

To call this a horror movie is not only an exaggeration. It's a lie.

Nevertheless I thought it was very, veeery good.
Surprisingly twisted and surreal, with pretty much all characters being weird in one way or another. And the fact that the director doesn't give any explanations, but let the viewer alone figure out and interpretate what the hell is going on is just awsome. Like the ending. WTF??!!

And last but not least.. Viggo Mortensen. Flawless performance.

mrbelle 05-25-2009 05:54 PM

Plague Town. bunch of mutant children what could be worse?

I really enjoyed it

horrorobsessed 05-25-2009 06:07 PM

Twilight

it would be a stretch to say it was OKAYYY. but i've also read the books so the characters just didn't fit for me.

The Uninvited

Underworld: Rise of the Lycans

Mindless pacy entertainment and effects - :)

Great popcorn value and cheese factor -

Character and story development -

Direction and cinematography - :(

Overall - :)

Elvis_Christ 05-26-2009 12:43 AM

Sounds like it'll be worth seeing on the big screen then and not waiting for the DVD. Pity the direction is average... oh well.

I heard the directing was more than decent, actually. Maybe you should just watch it yourself. ;)

"Danse of the dead" 5/10

If it had only been funny...

_____V_____ 05-26-2009 01:56 AM

There is a big difference between hearing things from others and watching it.

But yeah, watch it and judge for yourself, Elvis.

Posher778 05-26-2009 01:58 AM

I watched it. I thought it was well directed.

psycho d 05-26-2009 07:06 AM

Tooth and Nail. Decent watch. Acting was kinda weak, dialogue pitiable at times. The premise was pretty good. Used too many gimmicks to tell the story instead of showing it. Some of the killings were pretty brutal in its defense. Barely enough sex, but at least there was some. Something to watch if ya have no other choices available. Ashe.

Kentucky Fried Movie

I got a few laughs, no laughs that made my chest hurt or snot come out of my nose though.. I was expecting more.

4/10

The Cottage

This movie was rather odd, not sure what it's real purpose was, it was far to influenced to have any impact... The Scene with Reece Shearsmith screaming in fear cracked me up though.. Up there with the best of the scream queens...

5/10

Hell Ride

I was expecting this one to be better as well, I though it would be more gritty, but it seemed to polished for a hardcore biker movie, and everyone was to slick and not angry enough.

I liked it. I like this "movies set in a German WW2 bunker" subgenre.

Comic Book Confidential

Very interesting watch. I'm no authority on comics so it probably just scraped the surface I'm guessing but it was cool hearing about some of the more underground stuff plus the footage with Robert Crumb in the 60s was great.

The Indian Runner

Amazing. Solid preformances, stylish direction a total winner in my book although quite a bleak watch.

Yah, I'm talking more about horror movies where some soldiers hold up in a bunker and meet with odd occurances like Deathwatch & The Bunker.

The Mothman 05-26-2009 07:49 PM

Oh my bad, I dont think I've seen one of those before.

neverending 05-26-2009 08:55 PM

Well check out Deathwatch, The Bunker or Outpost then!

The Weight of Water

Psychological drama starring Sean Penn, Josh Lucas, Elizabeth Hurley and others, involving the themes of jealousy, infidelity, familial relations and more, with a storyline spanning two different time lines. Very interesting.
