The Unborn, also watched it, just stupid movie, the dog with head in reverse was cool, the same goes for the old man in the stairs. The girl was too much pretty for this horror movie, to much pretty face, could not focus...:p kid was not scary. Don't understand why gary oldman went with this. |
Dark Remains. Acting was pretty bad. The script was either forced, awkward, or just plain unbelievable. Score was effective, and the storyline was decent enough. Somehow, it was still a pretty creepy flick. i'm almost embarrassed to recommend it. Ashe.

AUTOPSY---another one of the "8 Movies to Die For".....weak story but pretty gory.

Westworld
really good one, enjoyed it a lot, people often refer to it as a western, i wouldn't consider it a Western at all. |
Introduced a friend to some excellent films today:
Let the Right One In The Vanishing (Spoorloos) Eyes Without a Face |
Born Losers- the first Billy Jack movie. Really a hoot. I mean ... so bad, it's good.
The Wild Angels- the first biker film starring Peter Fonda, with Nancy Sinatra & Bruce Dern. Again- so very, very bad. |
Serenity with commentary

Watched One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest last night. One of my favourite flicks, Jack Nicholson is amazing in this.

The Bad News Bears (1976)

On Her Majesty's Secret Service
My eldest is going through a James Bond kick, obsessing on the new Bond flicks. Thought I should show him a couple of my favorites. This one has the most character development and the most interesting story of all the Bond films. Lazenby is no Sean Connery, but he handles himself well and is self-deprecating. The directing has an almost Bava-esque pop-art appeal and Diana Rigg is the ultimate Bond girl; smart, sexy, tough, and she even gets to drive the car in a getaway! And did I mention Telly Savalas as Blowfeld? A bit longer than I remembered. The pacing is off, but still... fine entertainment. 7/10 up next... the silliest Bond - Moonraker |

I got to see Eyes Without a Face in the theater last year, it was amazing to see it on the big screen. Also, if you get a chance to read Let the Right One In, it's much better than the movie (which was good). |
Out Of The Dark 1989....on fearnet channel
not sure if this was suppose to be a comedy or not.....Killer in clown mask killing girls from a sex hot-line. Goofy 80s music and styles.....not scary or very funny. a few nice boob shots though |

His name was Jason
I didn't like the editing, it cut from person to person far to much, it also had no focus in the direction. It would have been much more interesting if they focused more on how films had battled censorship etc. It seemed more like an ego trip than anything else. 4/10 |
Hostel (I hadn't seen it before) and Waxwork (really liked that goofy movie, and was about time I finally opened the dvd)
|
Hairspray.
I enjoyed it. |

I think Dr. No, From Russia with Love, and Goldeneye are still really good. I also dig the Daniel Craig ones. |
The Fountain. Visually stunning and well acted. The storyline was good though a little eratic. Ending was pretty cool. Still, i could not wait for it to be over, at which point i wished i could have my 90 minutes back. The only reason i watched it was because it was directed by Aronofsky. In its defence, it was centered around a sappy love story, and i hate most love stories. i would still recommend it to those that can stomach such things. Ashe.

The Bed Sitting Room
Bizarre piece of absurdism penned originally as a stage play by Spike Milligan, featuring Ralph Richardson, Dudley Moore, Peter Cook, Marty Feldman, Harry Secombe, Milligan himself, Frank Thornton and many others. It's very British and one of the strangest movies I've ever seen- which is saying a lot. |

Masters of Horror: Takashi Miike: Imprint
Now that was a disturbing flick. Sick, twiztid, and bleak Japanese horror. Nicely executed... Ashe. d |
