Yes, horror is porn to me.... only reason why I find you attractive, weird Danish man. :p But call me French again, and.... Last watched: Planet of the Apes - Far better than that crap Tim Burton felt compelled to make. |

You find me attractive because you're scared of me? Now who's a weirdo... fffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffrench lady!!!! :p |
"Head of state" 3/10
The humor sucks. Chris Rock sucks. But damn..... a well spoken black nobody running for president against a white jack ass. And this movie is from 2003. Hallelujah |
Two movies yesterday.
Stranger than fiction - I think this is easily WF's best film...not a whacky kind of comedy, hell I'm not even sure if the overall idea of this film WAS comedy...seemed to steer a lot towards drama, but in a good way. Had this whole melancholy type vibe to it I found, most of the characters seemed to have something missing in their lives, was a bit sad that way. But seriously, very good film...and I loved how it wrapped up, even though the "intended" finish never came to fruition. Great cast, and Hoffman as per usual killed without trying. Phantasm 4. So now I've seen them all over a couple months. 1 = good, 2 = better, probably my favourite, 3 = pretty fun and crazy still good even if not as much so as the second. 4... Boring. Unresolved. I mean the one interesting part (the "past" tall man) wasn't even explored? Lets run away but talk about how it would've been a good idea to "change" him, then never do it? Reg meets ANOTHER girl, another fucked up girl. sphere tits. wow. I kind of expected it to pick up when I saw the multiple dimension gates, I saw possibilities to go throughout the timespan of the tallman to at very least get a complete idea of origin, but no...lets just blow a car up... I'd still buy the box set, but this film is no good. Here's hoping if the rumoured #5 ever happens they'll work hard to redeem things, and to actually get some kind've resolution. |

Agreed. Great movie. |
Been watching these "Fear Itself" episodes on FEARnet....and actually enjoying them a bit more than Masters of Horror, actually.
It seems all the MoH are just about "Where can I put tits in here" and strange script choices that make me wonder what the hell the directors were thinking. I think Fear Itself comes off as a little more cohesive. I don't know if its just the scripts or if the casts are better or what. So far I've watched the "Skin and Bones" one about the Wendigo...I was surprised that it actually had a couple chilling moments in it. Some bad acting here and there, but overall very entertaining. Then I watched the "New Year's Day" about the zombie apocalypse. This one was rather irritating because Darren Lynn Bousman went a LITTLE bit TOO "Saw" with the directing. Lots of jittery shakey cam crap that was really distracting. The ending of the episode was kind of cool though. Finally, I watched "Family Man" by Ronny Yu (and I actually enjoyed Bride of Chucky and FvJ...fun flicks). Probably the best one out of the 3, so far. The story was very "Tales from the Crypt-ish" and I liked that. Pretty bleak ending too, but not in that Wolf Creek kind of way that makes you sad....more in that "Ouch, that's pretty fucked up" kind of way. Overall.....not bad! I'll definitely watch the rest. |
Stand By Me (1986) - 9/10.
Excellent flick, and easily one of my favourite Stephen King adaptations. |
The Wrestler (2008) - 4.5/5
This is the kind of movie you could just keep on watching forever. The story- or, more appropriately, the experience- is so naturalistic in form and genuine in heart that there seems to be no barrier between this man, his demons, his passion and us. Indeed this is Mickey Rourke as he should have always been, and it's just as exhilerating to watch him ressurect his career as it is to watch Randy step into the ring. Arnofsky is invasive but not rough in his documentary-style look into this life, and there is something within the wrestler himself which always makes us feel like we should be there right beside him, through the rough times and the beautiful ones. I saw Revolutionary Road again to make sure I wasn't crazy. Turns out I'm not. Still the best movie of 2008. |
Cemetary Man.
Interesting, funny in parts, but overall felt a little pointless. Maybe worth a watch for those that like "weird" |
Motel Hell, Dead & Buried, Party Monster, Glory Daze.

Copycat (1995)
>>: B- Mum & Dad (2008) http://www.eyeforfilm.co.uk/images/s...008_poster.jpg Synopsis: When Lena, a young Polish office cleaner at the Heathrow airport, is befriended by Birdie & Elbie, her co-workers, she gets drawn into a nightmarish world of torture, murder and perversity. Imprisoned in a suburban House of Horrors and designated a 'Mummy's Girl', Lena's only options appear to be to become part of the family - and join them in their insanity - or die. A new entry to the British torture-survival horror genre which was about a sick family kind of the Hewitts form TCM. Not bad or not so good either. Worth a watch at least. >>: B- JCVD (2008) Wow! All I can say that it was like Van Damme's The Wrestler or Gran Torino! Though there were very few (or no!) fight scenes but it's a must see for all Van Damme fans! >>: A- |

Heard so much about it...and I can see why people like it, but just not for me. |
Doubt
-Hoffman and Streep just tore this one up in the best way. However, the best, albeit shortest performance came from Viola Davis' supporting role, that she's rightfully been nominated for. Amy Adams did well too. Great display of acting here. 8/10 |

The Local Stigmatic
Another great Pacino performance in a very underlooked short film. I'm not going to claim that I understand it after first viewing...it's a very ambiguous film. Still: great dialogue and brilliant performances by both Pacino and Paul Guilfoyle. |
Amarcord (1973)
Wonderful, sprawling, carnival-like childhood reminiscence told through a series of episodes. Fellini remembers not in concrete memories, but more like caricatures of memories, making it fantastical and comical, and strangely engrossing. Great stuff. |
Shurayukihime (Lady Snowblood) (1973)
Ah, still one of my favorites. It never gets old. |

There's an R1 set out over here that's pretty nice, except for some reason it's missing the second film in the series (Female Convict Scorpion: Jailhouse 41, which can be bought separately). I've been meaning to pick those up for quite some time now. Excellent stuff, though. Meiko Kaji's great. |
Tuff Turf... What a great 80's movie!
Tuff Turf
This movie has it all. James Spader, Robert Downey Jr, great memorable scenes, good music, sexy Kim Richards and a nice plot about high school kid fighting a high school gang for a girl. It's a must see! One of my favorite 80's movies. |
Righteous Kill (2008) - 7/10.
A bit better than I expected but still not very good. Anything with Deniro or Pacino is worth watching. |
Death Race ... fun as hell - loved the music too
|
Lakeview Terrace...it was ok...worth a rental
The Rocker...meh...nothing great...Rainn Wilson channeling Jack Black.worth a rental |

My bro and I couldn't sleep so we watched(for the first time) all of the Sleepaway camps at about 6 A.M. Bro's BF has the survival camp boxset thing.
I liked all of them. The first one was fucking sweet and the shocker ending(I knew about it before I saw it so that was a bummer) but I wasn't prepared for such a creepy way of doing the ending. The other ones weren't bad, I hated pamela Springsteen as Angela(just because I was used to Felissa Rose being Angela), but I still liked them. I had high hopes for Return to Sleepaway Camp because it was the original writer/director, Angela and Ricky and Ronnie but I was seriously let down. I felt bad for the outcast kid but at the same time I hated him. I still liked it though even though it sucked. All in all fun series, First one AWESOME, Recommend it to anyone that hasn't seen it. |
My Bloody Valentine - 6.5/10
-I saw it without the 3D, which I assume would've made it a lot more fun, but it was still entertaining enough. |
just caught VACANCY on showtime. had promise but ultimately was pretty stupid and disappointing.

I thought it was pretty creepy, it might of had something to do with my state of mind at the time and the enviroment though.. I just watched the Strangers, which I was expecting a bit from, but, after a nice slow build up, that was it, the entire movie seemed like a build up to a lame conclusion... Not even any Liv Tyler tity... 4/10 |
TAKEN
After the first twenty minutes or so this is balls to the walls action.....good stuff. |
My Bloody Valentine 3D.
Wow. Chrono and Des and everyone else were right with this one. This is not only a nod to the slasher genre, but in essence is built around the draw of the exploitation films of the 60s and 70s, and even stuff like the "gimmicky" Castle films before that. This is entertainment, for sure, in good horror spirit. |

Terrance Zdunich had the only role I enjoyed, but that's considering how many years he has been going the stage version. Bill Mosley was awful! Could have done a much, much better job had he added in a bit of the insanity from Ho1kC, and had a little less Chop Top. The worst part is, I have to suffer through it again on Friday when I promised to watch with a friend of mine. We're big Rocky Horror fans and thought this would be right up your ally. If you like Anthony Head even a little, see this movie for his voice but rent, don't buy! |
Now after that terrible review, I don't think I'll ever see it.

I really liked Repo and thought alot of the songs were pretty good, a couple generic ones but a few wernt bad. I thought it was a very cool idea.
Just saw Dead alive for the first time. I really liked it, loved the gore and the comedy, loved the colors used in it, great make-up and effects. About to watch Bad Taste for the first time. |
Prom Night (2008)
So it starts with a horrible cover of a classic Zombies tune, bad omen that. But there were no paralels between this and the origanal Prom Night, this was a stand alone movie. It's a pretty average slasher though. And where was the blood, if people are getting stabed 5 or 6 times there should be more blood than when I cut myself shaveing. Not something to go out of your way to see, but not something to drasticly avoid either. 4.5/10 |
Prom Night.
Nothing to applaud, but it wasn't bad either. |
The Room (2003)
This is quite possibly the worst movie I've ever seen, but that's a very good thing. Like Troll 2, it's an absolute riot; what was supposed to be a very serious drama is now an instant cult classic, thanks to the tragically bad acting of director Tommy Wiseau. I urge you all to check this clip out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ISXiFJS9D5A |
