watched Time after time (Malcolm McDowell and David Warner) with Bree. haven't seen it in about 10 years. fun little movie, definitely worth the watch if you've never seen it.

Trapped Ashes (2006)

Finally I got a fair copy of this crap! It's a "Creepshow" typed anthology of 4 dumb stories.

21 Grams (2003)

It weights emotionally heavy. Sean Penn, Benecio Del Torro and Naomi Watts all three at a time delivered remarkably stunning & powerful performances. A mind blowing film indeed.

amazing film .. mcdowell really tore this one up - no doubt because he was so glad for a chance to play against type.

The Dark Knight - we all saw it again last night. first time we - as a family - ever paid to see a movie twice... and it didnt lose any of it's appeal.
I probably liked it more as i was able to focus on different things.

anyone who says harvey dent's two-face effect is cheezy is nuts. it looks amazing.

didn' think it would be that funny and guess what it wasn't.

"Lost Boys: The Tribe"

Straight to DVD sequel, and it shows. This film has none of the fun or charm of the original. Terrible acting from Angus Sutherland as the vampire king. Just a lousy movie and a terrible dissappointment.

Agreed.

Mike Myers should stop his acting career.

I said it. It just looks campy to me in juxtaposition to the extremely dark realism the rest of the film follows.

That salvaged, perfectly round, white as a pearl eyeball should not be there amongst the absolute wreckage of the surrounding face- especially considering the eyeball should have gone first.

Just an opinion. Loved the film.

Morgan Spurlock's 2nd film is pretty good. Funny, daring and informative.

Not very impressed with this one. Miike has definitely done better. It was like Ju-On with a cell phone twist.

I started watching this one awhile back but never finished it. Just couldn't get into it. Might have to try again sometime soon.

12 Angry Men

A Mighty Wind

CrimsonFiend138 09-02-2008 07:16 PM

Donnie Darko. I remember seeing bits of this and felt very intrigued, and I must say I FUCKING LOVED IT. it was on fearnet and I figured it wasn't horror but I watched it and it tugged at my emotions more than a few times. I fell in love with a couple of the characters. Patrick Swayze's character and the annoying teacher(Teach from childs Play 2) were just perfect. I loved that Maggie Gylenhaal played Jake's sister in the movie. Amazing film I need to go buy it.

Gary Jules' version of Mad World is an incredible song, but putting it in a scene like that damn near guarantees a few tears. I mean...damn.

Make sure you watch the extras on A Mighty Wind- and listen to the commentary!

Jacob's Ladder

Honestly? I was kind of let down...I liked it, there were some cool visuals and Tim Robbins was great, but I guess my expectations were too high.

I cant even really put my finger on it...I guess I was just expecting more somehow? Can't even really put it into words.

But I will give it another shot someday, for sure.

_____V_____ 09-02-2008 10:38 PM

You have to. I think it was just perfect, with the right balance of tone and visualisations. Definitely re-watch it whenever you can. Its a movie which will grow on you.

Despare 09-03-2008 12:00 AM

I felt the same way about Jacob's Ladder... I need to watch it again soon as well.

Beyond Re-Animator.

Really a piece of garbage compared with the other two, but it was fun once all hell broke loose and everything was getting shot up with reagent.

The Mummy 3.
computer graphics - great, overall film - below par with a  plot.

The Dungeonmaster

I enjoyed this. Good cheeseball fun and it an appearance by the band W.A.S.P really made it for me.

I liked it when it came out even tho the ending was really depressing to me. Not something I'd own but its cool to catch bits and pieces of it on TV during the holidays.
