The Last Time I Committed Suicide....B-

Story of the guy that started the Beat Generation

Vodstok 08-19-2008 10:13 AM

The Descent with director and crew commentary, followed by the director and cast commentary. Both were almost as entertaining as the movie itself. The resident evil commentary ruined that movie for me, because Michelle Rodriguez and Mila Jovovich were drunk and just sounded like a couple of stupid airheads. In contrast, the cast commentary of the descent made me like it even more.

Watching 30 Days of night with the commentary right now, and so far I am enjoying it too :)

Nosferatu (1979)

Not what I was hoping for.

Vodstok 08-19-2008 07:13 PM

Finished 30 Days of Night with the commentary on. Very entertaining. Both lead actors are cool people and the producer was interesting, he seemed to have fun too.

Josh Hartnet has a nice, dry sense of humor. I got a kick out of his comment about the last fight in the movie. "that wasnt a stunt, that was all me."

and the producer follows up with "Poor Danny. (the lead vampire) He had such a bright career in front of him too."

Critters.
I loved it, those little guys were so awesome.

"Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog" 9/10

Best musical ever.

I just wish they will make it into a full length movie, extend some of the songs a minute or two and add a lot more. Coz they sure know how to write them.

And the story is just so darn lovable. :)

Dogma

You know, I dont see why people were so offended by this movie...obviously nobody stayed until the end.

Probably the most laugh out loud funny movie of the Smith ones that I've seen...not the best by any means, but it's still really well written and delivers a ton of laughs. Plus, who knew Ben Affleck could be so fucking badass?

The Pink Panther (1963)

As much as I adore the franchise as a whole, I have to say that I'm not as crazy about this one. It's a great movie to be sure, but once you've seen the rest of the series you wonder where all the laughs went, and why Clouseau has next to no screen time.

David Niven and Claudia Cardinale have great chemistry and certainly did a wonderful job, but the movie just lacks something whenever Sellers isn't around.

I'd never say it's anything less than a great movie - but for my money, A Shot in the Dark is the ultimate Pink Panther flick.

Harnet gives a great commentary .. he appears very knowledgeable about the entire filmmaking process... like i said before after i saw it - i'll be suprised if he isnt directing very soon.

Lightning Bug.

really good movie - exceeded my expectations.. well written, well cast.
Nice directing job from a guy who is normally an FX guy.

Geddy 08-20-2008 08:15 AM

Riding The Bullet with Mick Garris commentary.

Rape Squad

Really enjoyed this one. A true exploitation classic! Some of the lines in this had me in tears of laughter :D

One Man Jury

Decent cop flick. I was expecting something more in the vein of Death Wish but this was still a great watch especially for Joe Spinell.

Jack Palance one?

I remember watching this on VHS many years back. Thought it ripped off Dirty Harry more than Death Wish, although I dont remember much of it now.

Night Stalker and Night Strangler

Netflix just sent me this dual sided DVD, and I gotta say I'm a Kolchak fan. Although somewhat light on action, these two made for TV movies managed to capture my attention for their short running times. The Night Strangler though is slightly better than the Night Stalker. Dan Curtis rules as well.

novakru 08-20-2008 02:04 PM

Cloverfield...was extremely surprised how good this was and how it kept my attention.

.. and I felt really bad that that annoying guy filming got...well, you know:(

you should probably slap a spoiler warning in front of that. i know if I hadn't seen it yet and read that I wouldn't be too happy.

...but really, if you're posting on Horror.com and you haven't seen Cloverfield yet...you're almost asking to have it spoiled.

Geddy 08-21-2008 07:18 AM

From Dusk Till Dawn with commentary.

The_Return 08-21-2008 07:24 AM

Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back

Stupid as hell...but I'll be damned if it wasn't foolishly entertaining. Great fun!

I really enjoyed it. But then, it's hard not to like something that Ian McKellen is in. I thought Brendan Fraser did a good job, too. Didn't the screenwriter get an Oscar for it?

She doesn't go into specifics about what happens to him. For all you know he could of gotten the shits or missed his plane to Berlin.

Yep.

One of the best adaptations made on a movie persona, IMO.

I went on IMDB to look at some things about the cast and the writers. There were a few comments that kind of caught me by surprise - people saying that Brendan Fraser was horrible and stuff like that. I thought he did a really good job - quite a departure from his usual roles.

The only two I can think of off the top of my head are Clue and The Hunt for Red October. I know he's been in a lot more movies, I just can't think of them right now.

If you go to imdb.com and do a search on Tim Curry, it'll give you a list of all the movies and TV he's done.

You're welcome. He's one of my favorites, too. :)
