It wasn't as good as I thought it was going to be, still a pretty decent flick though. What did you think of it?

Last seen movies:
-Bottle Rocket.
-Stop Making Sense.

Dynamite Warrior

Good movie, would have been better without the bad CGI and the crappy song from Sao.

jugchord 08-11-2008 07:46 AM

Right at your Door
It was a good independent movie it had some touching parts I say rent it.

Pretty much my thoughts exactly...I enjoyed it, but I was expecting a lot more.

_____V_____ 08-11-2008 08:24 AM

Congo.

Wife wanted an adventure movie...and she got it. Still as likeable as a guilty pleasure will ever be. Ernie Hudson, Tim Curry and even the Bruce Campbell cameo is still a riot. Other than the annoying ape Amy, everything else was well worth the re-watch.

And of course, there was the city of Zinj...

Ok, fuck The Dark Knight. This is the ultimate Batman movie.

...jokes aside, I really did enjoy every second of this. I grew up watching reruns of the Adam West TV series, so on top of just being flat-out awesome, it was a bit nostalgic, haha.

Some choice lines:

"Just because they're drinkers doesn't mean that they aren't human beings Robin!"

"Some days, you just can't get rid of a bomb!"

My personal favourite - this is when they're trying to decide who was behind a dastardly attack on the Dynamic Duo:

Commissioner Gordon: It could be any one of them... But which one? Which ones?
Batman: Pretty *fishy* what happened to me on that ladder...
Commissioner Gordon: You mean where there's a fish there could be a penguin?
Robin: But wait! It happened at sea... Sea. C for Catwoman!
Batman: Yet, an exploding shark *was* pulling my leg...
Commissioner Gordon: The Joker!
Chief O'Hara: All adds up to a sinister riddle... Riddle-R. Riddler!
Commissioner Gordon: A thought strikes me... So dreadful I scarcely dare give it utterance...
Batman: The four of them... Their forces combined...
Robin: Holy nightmare!

Hilarious movie...just damn good fun all around! :D

I've gotta watch this again. Last time I saw it I was Batman for Halloween... And that was fairly long ago.

Still like the movie though. Just imagine - the same storyline without the fake gorillas...would be killer!!

well, to be honest - i dont remember liking anything about this movie (i cant remember if i read the novel or not)

i found the cast flat - tim curry gave a circa 80's TV quality performance ... and pretty much nothing of interest happend from beginning to end (my opinion only)

his film adaptations have been hot and cold ..

timeline and sphere were botched messes as well

I left the TV on in the living room and when I walked by to let Harley Quinn out I saw about 7 seconds of Epic Movie. I still hurt.

sure it's a crap film, but it still made me laugh harder in some parts than a lot of other better films have.

the cat on the toilet scene in Date Movie almost gave me a heart attack.
i dont care how shitty the rest of the movie was - that one scene alone was worth the purchase price of the DVD.

Yeah, it was fantastic, one of my fave westerns.

The Dark Night---9/10 [love the way this series is progressing.]

Step Brothers---6/10 [all the funny parts were in the trailer]

Hancock---7/10 [liked it more than I thought I would]

Drillbit Taylor---6.5/10 [ wife wanted to watch it....nothing new here but I didn't hate it]

urgeok2 08-12-2008 06:52 AM

The Banger Sisters :

Goldi Hawn and Susan Sarandon as a couple of ex semi famous groupies who cross paths later in life ... Hawn is still trying to be the girl she was 20 years earlier - Sarandon is a high class mom - married to an affluent lawyer.

what could have been a decent movie ended up being a really shitty film due to incredibly bad writing. A couple of 'crucial moments' were so painful to watch i felt embarrased for everyone involved.

to the point where if i ever meet anyone who thought this movie was good - i'd think they were stupid. I never say that - but this movie pissed me off.

the only saving grace was that Goldie Hawn is still beautiful to look at - so is Sarandon for that matter ... but in every other aspect of this film, the mark was missed by a long shot.

subtle as a flying mallet - as Dave Edmunds would say.

...I actually liked this one, haha.

_____V_____ 08-12-2008 08:37 AM

21 Grams.

I really, really liked this one. Its a premise and script many can relate to, and its supported by some very neat camerawork, superb characterisation (Sean Penn & Benicio Del Toro are AWESOME!) and excellent direction.

It shows so little, and says so much...one of those movies which is an artwork in itself. Its like watching Da Vinci's Mona Lisa in action, albeit in a very depressing way. Fans of Requiem for a Dream or any Aronofsky movies take note...give this one a spin. If you haven't seen this one, you are really missing something.

Clerks (Extended Cut)

Probably my all-time favourite comedy film. Only my second viewing, but its damn near flawless.

Not a whole lot of difference in the extended cut, but the ending is a million times better.

Equilibrium with Director's commentary
Equilibrium with Director and Producer commentary

Back to back. very interesting, especially since this masterpiece was Kurt Wimmer's first movie. Its amazing how much of the action he was disappointed with because they didn't have the budget.

Angra 08-12-2008 01:05 PM

"The mummy 3" 4/10

A very light version of Indiana Jones.

It was bad. REALLY bad.

Couldn't care less about either of the characters, epsecially the son. I really disliked Luke Ford's performance and i believe he was the sole reason i truly hated the Alex O'Connell character from start to finish. Of course it didn't help that every single one-liner in TM3 was so bad, a kid in kindergarden could've written them.

It didn't take long before i impatiently waited for it to finish.

I'm just too old for this shit..

Be Kind Rewind.

Softball quirky humor at its finest. Good scripting, nice touchê moments, decent characters and un-inspiring direction. A good way to pass some quality time with some very genuinely funny, insane and wacky moments.

Not everybody will like this one. But anyone with a particular taste, of having a good sense of humor, will enjoy it.
