We (my next door neighbors and I) had a little childhood rivalry. The stones were my thing and the Beatles were theirs, and we'd always dis on each other about it. To sum it up, it doesn't feel like Rock and Roll to me, it doesn't click with me, it doesn't make me feel exited inside like most R&R does. Every time i hear "All you need is love" with that chant 'love, love, love" I cringe. I can't stand it. and Yellow Submarine? it sounds like a children sing-a-long song. Revolution is the only song by them that I almost like. The Beatles sound like a pop band from the 60's, which is what it was. imo it doesn't have the heart that the Stones do. sure, its got social and political significance, whatever, so does Bob Dylan, who whoops their ass.

You should try some of their less played-out shit. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q5tQt0IWwcE

I mean, The Rolling Stones are one of the best, no doubt, but you should give The Beatles a fairer trial.

ok - once again - ac/dc have been a huge band in the 70s (Highway to Hell), 80s (Back in Black, For Those About to Rock), 90s (Razor's Edge) and 00s (Black Ice) - all big sellers. i think they get dismissed too easily by people who don't pay attention to music

Posher778 01-11-2009 04:59 PM

Fine. *You* count the votes. I'm eating fast food.

Zero 01-11-2009 05:01 PM

y'know - i love posher but i'm beginning to think this tournament should be put out of its misery.

So don't participate in it? I think one thread without the same old "I'm gonna throw feces at you" and "Listen to me pretend to be a primate" lines won't cause the second coming of Christ.

Elvis wins. He isn't a band and if you don't like it you can go lock yourself in a room with Omcdave. Cheers.

So it's your right to criticize me? And I didn't disappear for more than a day. But it's ok when V decided to disappear for a few days during the Battle Royale because of personal problems right? But I forgot that you idolize him. So that nullifies my issues simply due to popularity? Are you just a hypocritical idiot? Grow a pair and shut the fuck up.

mikeyjay88 01-11-2009 05:16 PM

For what it's worth, I'm going to go with (would have gone with?) The Allman Brothers.

You spelled "wielding" incorrectly in your signature, for the record.

ROUND 1 MATCH 11

NINE INCH NAILS

VS

GUNS 'N' ROSES
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/l...ns_n_roses.jpg

The Flayed One 01-12-2009 11:11 AM

Guns 'N' Roses. I can't think of any album I've ever listened to more than Appetite For Destruction. Unless they're against Iron Maiden, G'N'R will always get my vote.

Doc Faustus 01-12-2009 11:15 AM

Guns 'N Roses. Reznor is a great musician, but the work is so one note emotionally. Guns 'N Roses has fun and the occasional surprising sensitive song.

Posher778 01-12-2009 11:17 AM
