I gave it a 3, the extra 2 points were because of Sacha Baron Cohen.

I know,I psych myself up for them. But,honestly,This film will not change from my favorite movie position.

This is your favorite movie also right? What was your favorite scene/line ECT?Besides the standoff and shooting off hats.Haha, that was awsome.

alkytrio666 06-16-2008 08:09 AM

Oh, yeah, for sure it's my favorite. To me it stands on a pedestal above any other film. Did you watch the final cut (2hr 59min) or the theatrical cut (2hr 41min)?

The 2hr 41mn minute version. The 2 disc DVD edition has both right?I'm thinking of getting the Sergio Anthology Collection which has the other Man with No Name movies(Better then calling it the dollar trilogy,i think)Which also has Duck,You Sucker.I agree about the pedestal above any other film.IMO(For the other people, don't attack me for it.I don't like getting in fights.)

Halloween and Christine double-feature at the Aero Theater last night as part of a John Carpenter film festival.

Christine was the first Carpenter flick I saw in the theater as a teen and I had never seen Halloween in the theater. It was amazing!!!!

ironman.

If every superhero movie is this good, then we will be several steps closer to a utopian society. Fucking amazing. Cant wait to see The INcredible Hulk (which i will be seeing in the theater in 2 weeks :))

massacre man 06-16-2008 10:32 AM

Why in two weeks? And Incredible Hulk was awesomely good.

I haven't seen Iron Man yet.

Anywho.

American History X
I don't see why so many people dislike Ed Norton. I know he's a douchebag but I personally think he's a good actor. And I love this movie, especially the last 15-20 minutes.

Drillbit Taylor
I liked some of the jokes. The story was meh. But it was an OK movie.

All The Boys Love Mandy Lane
Disappointed. The movie was going pretty good. Then the twist at the end just killed the entire thing for me.

He just tweeks with his films to give himself more screen time. I mean, it's always for the better I suppose. He changed American History X so much Tony Kaye wanted to remove his own name from the film. I guess I should choose a less severe word. He's "hard to work with".

He and James Gunn always update their MySpace status things with where they're going. I remember one of the two mentioned that, just wasn't sure which.

Its pointless to argue with a girl who has a severe crush.

She doesn't take no for an answer. ;)

I have the Anthology, and it's worth every penny. It has 2-discers for all four movies, and all four movies are worth owning. However, the TGTBATU DVD only contains the director's cut. While it is definately the better cut, I would recommend, if you're as passionate about the movie as I am, purchasing a $10 copy of the theatrical cut to have as well. Both have their merits.

missmacabre 06-16-2008 03:11 PM

Head. That crazy acid trip movie with the Monkees. very fun watch.

I'm getting that.I can't wait to see the other 3 films.I saw the packaging(and saw the 2 discers for each film:D) and it looks awsome.I also really want to see the original version, the one that wasn't cut.I'll also do what you suggested and get the other version. So I can have them both.:D

The Incredible Hulk.

Studios and directors have finally hit upon the magic ideas of how to make a comic-book-turned-movie click with the masses. The atmosphere of the whole movie compliments the CGI very nicely, and the direction is really admirable. The Abomination was a great development, and the final climatic battle is easily one of the best CGI fights anyone can hope to see on the big screen.

I thought for the most part, Tim Roth was the winner. The only possible complaint I could see was Edward Norton as Bruce...a slightly miscast option? But then, Downey Jr pulled off Tony Stark so...maybe the studios need to think over better casting options. Anyway, it was a negligible fact.

Overall, excellent in effects, good movie and technically sound. Well worth a peek.

the strangers (2008)

although being overall disappointed, i will say the film certainly had its merits.
they did an incredible job of building tension in the first 40 minutes or so, well-paced and subtle. it also looks really good, shot with an abundance of hand-held camera work and soft, orange light, both of which impressively add to the tension. after being quite impressed up until this point, the film just kind of stayed there, started throwing in gimmicks, and failing to deliver anything else of interest. it just started to get boring.

so what started off as a truly creepy, sinister film with a lot of potential ended as a mediocre disappointment that impressed me just a little more than the rest of the "blah" horror/torture/etc. films coming out today, and that's only because of what they did in the first part of it.

seeing it in theaters was fun for a while, but wasn't worth $9.50.

"The eye" (2008) 7/10

Thought it was quite decent.

The Breakfast Club

If you're a teenager and you haven't seen this classic...go. Go out right now and buy it.

I'd never really been overly interested in seeing it, but I'm going to be in a stage version of it later this summer (I play Vernon, heh) so I figured I'd give it a look. Wow - what an amazing movie.

Mad Max

It was on tv on Sunday, it's one of those movies that seems to pop up when least expected for me.. but it's always great.
