The action was "big" and "spectacular" but the film, the characters didn't have the same depth and charm as in, say, The Omega Man.

So yeah, as a SFX spectacular it was ok, as a story it was pretty forgettable.

I thought the creatures looked awful. It was okay when you only caught glimpses of them.....but once you started seeing a lot of them, it took away from the film, in my opinion.
But I admit, I might have been more forgiving of that fact had I not went into the film REALLY wanting to see the book done justice. It COULD have been great, and like I said, it started out promisingly enough. But the last few minutes were just....bad.

"The Mist"

A very good movie, but Damn I hated that down beat ending.

"Speed Racer"

A total blast. I was never a huge fan of the cartoon. but I thought the movie was great.

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest- 8.5/10

My favorite of the three. I love everything about this movie. The action is fantastic, the Kraken.... Even more awesome. Amazing ending as well. I may watch the third tonight, which is just a step behind DMC in my opinion.

Posher778 05-14-2008 04:02 PM

Les Choristes (The Chorus)- 9/10

VERY good french film. It's a drama, and a very well made one at that. Sort of a cross between Mr. Holland's Opus and The Dead Poet Society. The acting is very impressive (especially since most of the actors in the film are young boys), and the ending is perfect.

Return- I think you might like this one. Maybe...

Batman Forever.

Serious question: Is Joel Schumaker gay?

He has been very open about his homosexuality for as long as I can remember

Enjoyed it a lot. One of the perks of not reading all of your reviews until after I've seen the movie: it allows me to really watch a a film without the usual expectations (now I know I'm in the minority of those who liked it... boo hoo, it was fun and spooky!).

Requiem For A Dream

Still an extremely well made and hard hitting movie. Shows you the true side of addicts and it hits you hard. If you never seen this please go check it out or if you do own it rewatch it. Next week on my show we are doing a whole show on this movie and we'd love to hear from all of you on it.

9/10

Everyone's better off watching Christaine F or Drugstore Cowboy instead.

That bad huh? I've avoided it for a long time. Can't see Nic Cage pulling off Johnny Blaze, that goofy looking retard looks like he'd trip over his own shoelaces let alone ride a motorbike.

City Lights.

Brilliance on a movie screen. It has a warmth which cannot be explained in mere words, and the ending is one of the most touching visuals one can ever experience.

The man was an absolute genius. Too bad he will always be one of the most underrated personas of cinema history.
