Demons- 5.5/10

It's so much fun to watch and laugh at, great mindless movie. Having said that... it still sucks. I think it should be remade and done better, it could be very successful

Maybe someone did you a favour, and you'll never see it again?

White Noise 2

no fault of the actors - this movie was dumb dumb dumb.

stupid nonsensical story - not very well thought out with a pathetically limp and redundant last scare that would have dishonoured the film even if it had been any good. which it wasn't
So, pretty much on par with the first one then?

Movies...hm...not too many lately on this front...too much damn work, too much damn tv.

the_real_linda 03-25-2008 03:04 PM

lol i do want to watch it again... ive only watched it once at the cinema.

"2012 Doomsday" 0/10

The horror, the horror...

A tasteless and talentless attempt to push christianity down the viewers throats.

I guess that's what i get for trying to download "Doomsday" illegaly.

Sorry God, that will never happen again.

Suspiria- 9/10

would have been a 9.5 but the credits roll too early. I hate how some films just do that. I mean, it wasn't a bad ending by any means, in fact, I think that was one of the best climaxes i've seen in any horror film. This was my first viewing of it, and I can't believe how much i've been missing out. Amazing movie.

The Mothman 03-25-2008 06:34 PM

The Bank Job.
it was a fun movie. I also got to see it at AMC theater on 42nd street, so it made it all the better.

Night of the Creeps

Into The Wild

Amazing, lyrical, touching, and the best film Sean Penn has yet produced. Emile Hirsch delivers a career defining performance.
9.5/10 (because nothing's perfect)

i LOVE that movie.

found a lot of it (especially the opening) truely chilling.

the psycho was very feral, extremely effective.

I wish they'd release this one on DVD - i'd buy it.

Dante'sInferno 03-26-2008 12:13 PM

Just got done watching snow buddies with my grandma.

Over the Hedge

Just Friends
I liked it. Lowest possible form of expectations probably had something to do with it.

Despare 03-26-2008 05:01 PM

IMAX's Deep Sea

Austin, is Over the Hedge a good family film? I haven't seen much about it.

Great show, while I love it I'm not sure I like it as much as Jack of All Trades but I suppose I'll just have to watch each series again.

Speaking of good tv, I just watched disc one of Nick Frost's Dangers, 50,000 Volts. Funny stuff, a little light on the technical info but it's a good watch. Very Discovery channel-esque.

Generic kid stuff then? I still haven't enjoyed a CGI kids movie the way I still can the old animated Disney stuff.

The Mothman 03-26-2008 06:17 PM

In The Valley Of Elah.
tear jerker if there ever was one.
powerful film.

newb 03-26-2008 07:13 PM

tried but failed to get through two movies tonight.....Bava's "Kill Baby Kill"...it was just bad...had to turn it off..."Forest of the Damned"...even with naked forest demon girls and Tom Savini, I had to turn it off......horrible.

yeah, i found kill baby kill to be an extremely boring film. fast forwarded through the whole thing.

now, Kidnapped..thats a good bava film.

alkytrio666 03-26-2008 08:00 PM

Ah, dammit. I own Kill Baby Kill and have been looking forward to giving it its first spin. Do you guys like Bava's other work? How does the pace compare?

urgeok2 03-26-2008 08:00 PM

Black Mask (Jet Li)

followed by :

The Mist.

being the father of a 7 year old boy - i wish to fuck i'd never watched that movie.
not sure if i'll be able to sleep tonight.

Pretty much, nothing special. I enjoyed it though, and it's definitely something decent to watch with the family.

Find Me Guilty
Ok flick. That's the first time I've laughed at Vin Diesel for the right reasons.

Damn...don't I know it. Awesome movie.

Best King adaptation after Shawshank that's for sure.

i do like bava's other work, and i have to admit, kill baby kill is definitely very slow (not in a good way, but in the way that it's hard to pay attention to it).

--------------------------------------------------------

scream (1996)

goodness, it had been soooo long since i'd watched this.
it's certainly a really fun watch after not having seen it for years.

_____V_____ 03-27-2008 03:27 AM

Seven.

When the end credits rolled, my wife was numb with sheer shock...and had her hands over her open mouth.

Natural reaction, I say.

Still the 10/10 movie for me.

Phalanx 03-27-2008 08:53 AM

Just done with RZ's Halloween.
While I didn't find it "all that bad", and actually liked the idea of some kind of opening sequence set prior to the rest of the film (although felt it to be a little dragged out)...just didn't find the film all that great overall - the rest of it was just typical crap teen slasher, lacking any real suspense.

And Tyler Mane? modern Michael or out of place?

urgeok2 03-27-2008 09:00 AM

i'm still majorly fucked up from seeing The Mist.

i'm going to have to watch about 20 comedies in a row to erase that ending from my head

I am guessing...Monty Python.:p

jaybomb 03-27-2008 09:42 AM

watched the heartbreak kid (2007) with ben stiller, tries to hard or the jokes have gotten old, worth a watch for a couple of good laughs

also watched we own the night, liked the movie alot... father and son are policeman, other son is on the otherside of the law...worth a watch

Roderick Usher 03-27-2008 10:18 AM

Duck You Sucker aka A Fistful of Dynamite

Rod Steiger and James Coburn are both great in this classic from spaghetti western master Sergio Leone. The town of "Mesa Verde" couldn't look less Mexican, but the acting and directing are great and the story (complete with a quote from Chairman Mao at the top of the film) is subversive, leftist and really fun, if maybe a bit too long. Not on the same level as Once Upon a Time in the West and the Man With no Name trilogy, but still better than most westerns.

7/10

Kane_Hodder 03-27-2008 10:28 AM

A History of Violence.
A very good Cronenberg film.

Posher778 03-27-2008 02:33 PM

Borderland- 7/10

The talk around here is absolutely right... This movie is very good. Excellent acting, story, gore, thrills... This one's got the whole package. I do, however, feel like this was more a crime/thriller than horror... It's kind of in that genre in between... Either way it's excellent, and definitely worth a rent.

Videodrome

The Mad Monk 03-27-2008 06:45 PM

Dr. Phibes Rises Again

It's from 1972, but apparently anything after the 60's is "modern" horror!
