Juno – a decent debut by a first-time screenwriter, despite my dislike for the director’s work. Neither as funny or as heartwarming as it’s supposed to be, but not bad.

Most recently...
The Shaggy Dog, Knocked Up & Finding Neverland
Knocked Up wasn't as funny as I thought but I still was able to enjoy it. Finding Neverland was really good though even though some may be put off by the slow pace. I can honestly say I laughed more watching The Shaggy Dog (1959) than Knocked Up.

Ugh... Finding Neverland is the most recent movie to make me blubber like a little girl... damn cute kids...

Just finished I am Legend. Really liked it. One of Will Smith's best performances, subdued and hurt through the whole thing, not Steven Hiller (ID4) with infected. My wife summed it up best; Castaway meets 28 Days Later.

How does I Am Legend compare to Omega Man or Last Man on Earth?

Just watched Shoot Em' Up and I really feel like I've been using the words "mindless action flick" incorrectly... until now. I still had fun with it but there's nothing here for anybody looking for depth, story, emotion, character progression, or realism. It's just a lot of guns going off with some great stunts and a lot of visual flair.

Bad Lieutenant

I watched the NC-17 rated version of Bad Lieutenant earlier today. I was expecting some laughs and lots of action, But didn't get much of either. The tone of the movie turned out to be quite serious and to the point...

Definately a good movie though. However it was pretty sad and made me feel pretty f*cked up in some parts - Knowing that kind of stuff goes on and whatnot.

I wonder which scenes were cut out to make the R rated version...

Nonetheless, reccomended.

It's got a pretty cool cover for a Comedy/horror movie.

Yeah. It's more or less fair as a low budget comedy with quite an original idea, funny but boring sequences, and nice actings. But overall it's not as impressive as I expected.
You can give it a watch and you may like it. imdb has some very positive reviews!

Just saw it, my immediate reaction was.. bleah..
I was like wtf?? who made this piece of crap, like the story isn't even worth telling not to mention make a whole movie 'bout it, it's no surprise it was banned in almost 50 countries .. anyway some of the effects were pretty cool, i mean it's made in the 80' or so... the movie's tagline was sort of like this "Ripout! Barbeque! Devour! How long can you take it?" lame, just lame, anyway i watched it all, even watched it a second time to make sure the effects were in deed effects, i wasn't sure the first time :)).. my score will be i guess about a 6 on a 1 to 10 scale.. it's lame though but nice effects...:p

Woa i't almost coming to a new year from when i registered here.. time to get to posting baby, no joking around anymore, leave the sex for later we got some serious business here

I guess you just can't comprehend what the point of it is. I'll leave it at that. And you call it a piece of crap yet you give it 6/10? What?

Wrong thread by the way.

GREAT movie, I think part of the nun rape and Keitel spinning around naked and blitzed would both have been cut. Anyway, here's how the DVDs compare and NONE have cuts.

OVERALL: Draw
with R2 French CE, for the additional extra-features and English 5.1 -audio (note, that subtitles are "forced"), and R1 (optional subtitles). With R1, it's unconfirmed if the OOP release contains the cut musical cue and unfortunatly there is no way to tell from the packaging which version it is (so it seems).
CUTS:
R1 America - (Artisan) - No cuts: "NC-17" -version, this OOP version may have included the original Schoolly-D musical queue (unconfirmed).
R1 America - (Artisan - Re-release) - No cuts: 96:19 min (NTSC), "This NC-17 -rated version is uncut visually, though it should be noted that the soundtrack has undergone a slight alteration since the film's original release: Schoolly-D's "Signifying Rapper" had to be cut after it fell foul of a sampling copyright lawsuit."
R2 CE France - (Wild Side Video/MGM) - No known cuts (the original Schoolly-D musical cue is not confirmed).
R2 Germany - (Euro Video) - Germany - No cuts (92 min PAL) but it´s likely to be missing the Schoolly-D's 'Signifying Rapper' song
R2 United Kingdom - (Pathe! Distribution) - UK - No cuts (92m PAL - all previous cuts waived) but it is missing the Schoolly-D's 'Signifying Rapper' song

La Jetée (1962)
Brilliant. A whopping powerhouse of bizarre and intricate emotions, beautifully photographed.

Panic Room (2002)
This is a very good movie. Sure, it doesn't exactly come up to par with some of Fincher's others, but it's entertaining to the last frame, and it's a white-knuckler if I ever saw one.
