Molly Dunsworth - the lady-lead of Hobo With a Shotgun

I got to shoot her a couple of years later and got one go the most fun shots I've ever taken - on the set of Septic Man.

I can't show it until after the film has been long released

The cast of the original Evil Dead, sans BC.
I have met him elsewhere though and now have The Book of the Dead edition signed by all of the cast and the artist who designed the book - Tom Sullivan.

I'd love to get Sam Raimi and Joseph LoDuca to sign it but I don't think that's gonna happen :)

Molly Dunsworth with my buddy Richard A Kirk.

Richard is an amazing artist/illustrator and writer.
He's so talented that if he wasn't one of the nicest guys i know - i'd hate him ..

I met him years ago at a Toronto convention and was so impressed by both his work, his intelligence and his personality that he became the subject of my first full length print feature in Fangoria.

He did one of the Korn covers, and illustrated several works of Clive Barker - including the recent anniversary edition of Weaveworld.

He's an avid reader and decided to write a novella a couple of years ago and created one of the best pieces of fiction i've read in many years (The Lost MAchine) - the guy is incredible.

I recommend you google him and check out his work ..

Lynne Griffith - Curtains .. and she was the first kill in Black Christmas - and spent the rest of the movie in the attic with a bag over her head.

when we talked about it - she whipped out a plastic bag and gave me the next shot

Will have to check out Dry Bones. Always liked Kevin Van Hentenryck and wondered why he was never in more films.

Great shot with Dyanne Thorne.

Checked out Richard A Kirk's site amazing stuff. Reminds me a bit of John Dayer Baizley but way more surreal craziness going on... very impressive.

I'm glad you checked him out - his work is incredibly detailed - it takes about an hour per square inch ..
and some of the originals are huge

i'll try to get ahold of a copy of The Lost Machine for you in April

That would be killer I'd love to check it out.

Very talented man. The originals would be an impressive sight. With all that detail you could stare at them for hours.

the guy is so incredibly humble it's ridiculous.

every time we see him he does a sketch for Mark in his book (he did the very first one) and refuses to let us pay him .. and they are amazing

i HATE shooting with an iPhone, but sometimes its all you've got.
or all you can reach while driving.

I always see the most incredible skies while driving - in spots i can't pull over

here's a fun one ..

A couple of years ago i was returning from a company event around 4:30 PM.
I was stopped behind another car who was making a left hand turn into a residence.
We had to wait quite a while because of the oncoming traffic - so we were probably there for 90 seconds or more.

All of a sudden i found myself being thrown around the van ..
my seat broke and i went back…my cameras and lenses were flying around (i had them out because i had recently stopped to shoot a landscape)

There was no warning - no tires squealing …
the guy in the little car hit me dead on - no attempt to stop. He could have seen me a half a mile away stopped - but for some unknown reason he just plowed into me.
He made a last second attempt to swerve - hitting me 3/4 - driving me into oncoming traffic - if i hadn't hit the car in front of me i would have been hit by oncoming cars.

i had a sore neck and a scraped arm but was otherwise unharmed - until i punched my car when i saw the camera gear all over the inside of the van. (amazingly - nothing was damaged - just a slightly cracked lens hood)

the van was deemed beyond repair - so now i have another one - black - a couple of years newer.

never found out what happened to the idiot behind me but the police was pretty sure he was getting charged.

hammerfan 01-18-2014 05:52 AM

He was probably texting while driving. Idiot. Glad you weren't hurt badly! And your camera equipment!

Elvis_Christ 01-18-2014 07:17 AM

Damn that was lucky you weren't thrown into traffic!

I was waiting on a bus to work and I noticed a bunch of people driving and not paying attention. My favorite was a guy steering with his knees while eating McDonald's ::roll eyes::

newb 01-18-2014 07:29 AM

I'll agree with the texting......people are idiots. I was behind some dude a couple of years back, and he was swerving all over the road. As I pulled next to him it get away from what I was sure was drunk, I noticed he had a newspaper on his steering wheel.....the fucking idiot was reading the newspaper at 70 MPH

urgeok2 01-18-2014 09:37 AM

I see people texting every day on the way to work. I try to pull up beside them and honk

The worst part of my accident is that I had to work the next day - then drive to Cleveland for a convention where I was shooting Linnea

Luckily the insurance company had a loaner for me right away
I had a bit of a delayed reaction though - about 90 min into our shoot Saturday night, Linnea says - youre looking white - and we stopped because I was feeling off
Fine the next day though

Gerald is easily one of the nicest and most talented guys I've ever met
I visited him at his country home a couple of years ago when I was in his neck of the woods

An amazing painter
