Currently watching shooter.

Good fun, if a bit simple and straight forward.

anchorman, love this movie so many great one liners

The Devil's Advocate.

I think this is the role Charlize Theron should have been nominated for (but since she was little known at the time, fat chance). Very underrated performance and movie, imo.

Swingers (1996)

I've literally seen it more than twenty times, and it isn't any less funny than the first time I saw it. Second best comedy of all time.

DP McCoy 09-27-2007 12:03 PM

The Devil's Backbone-Deeply engaging and subtly delivered story.8/10

The Black Dahlia-I thought this had style but little else.5/10

Thumbsucker-Quirky ... yes definately quirky.7/10

Certainly powerful, and perversely unique.

How is that? We picked it up really cheap (which might give me my answer), but we haven't watched it yet, and I'm not sure when we will get to it.

MOH: The Damned Thing. Pretty interesting and creepy.

If you enjoy classic horror with some cheese on top then I strongly suggest it. If you don't like bad transfers and are expecting a beautiful anamorphic picture you're out of luck. I enjoyed it.

bwind22 09-28-2007 09:37 AM

Disturbia

The acting is fine and the suspense is good, but the plot is 100% unoriginal. This was a remake of Hitchcock's Rear Window that doesn't call itself a remake. I am not a fan of remade classics to begin with, but when it seems more like a cheap ripoff than a remake due to no credit being given to the original, it's somehow even less enjoyable.

Sounds good to me, going to try to watch it this weekend! Bad transfers don't really bother me.

Exact opposite for me, I thought the workprint's ending was weak and ordinary.

Anyway, I just watched We Are Marshall.

I like that title, when and where is it from?

_____V_____ 09-28-2007 09:52 PM

Resident Evil: Extinction.

Just came back from watching it. The plot was a continuation from the events of the 2nd movie, and I must say Ali Larter fits Claire to a T. Milla is her usual self...made to look superhuman with her anorexic looks...while the supporting cast aren't bad. Some of the sequences are pretty original...its a decent entertainer.

The direction is okay, even when the first half tends to slightly drag a bit...it more than compensates for the rivetting latter part of the movie. All in all, not a bad sequel...and certainly a notch above number 2.

I give it a 06/10.
