I know its better than Apocalypse...but is it any better than the original?

I bought the first Masters of Horror set and watching all 6 episodes today...I love this series so much. John Carpenter's Cigarette Burns just started :D

I don't think Victor Crowley will become a horror icon like Freddy or Jason - he's simply too removed from humanity. I'm not talking Jason-like... but, like, I just didn't connect with him in any way possible. Perhaps it's the fact that he's undisguised, and looks like any mutant out of The Hills Have Eyes. That being said, I'm rooting for Leslie Vernon. The gore in this film is just INCREDIBLE. The deaths are amazing, my favourite being the mouth-opener on the female tourist. The effects are really well done, and look very realistic and sickening. I have a question though - does it really end that abruptly? I liked it, different... but it seemed to just cut out and I'm not sure if it should've.

Holy shit, I'm really excited. I'm watching Black Sheep now, but that's not why... I'm catching Ils (Them) next! I've heard nothing but ridiculously good praise for this film - and it looks simply stunning! Anyone see it? I'm expecting it to keep me awake all night long.
