"28 weeks later" 7/10

The unsteady camera work during the entire movie was driving me mad...

Toxic 06-30-2007 08:15 PM

I liked 28 Days Later better. Thats just my opinion though.

Death Tunnel - OK, but not a classic or anything.

Me too.

But just because of the first half of the movie. The rest went pretty much the same as the entire sequal.

I prefer Robert Carlyle over Cillian Murphy any day though.

Oh yes, Robert Carlyle surpasses alot of people - diverse, versatile and realistic acting every time. I dont think there is one movie where I dont like his character or the storyline.

And to think he started out in a little known, but delightful, tv drama set in the Scottish Highlands! There's just something about this Scotsman!! :D

"Vacancy" 7-8/10

Concidering that Vacancy had two of Hollywoods dullest actors starring it, it was surprisingly entertaining and thrilling from beginning to end.

The ending and climax could have been better though and i could have done without all the classic cliches, like the cell-phone that didn't work, the cars that wouldn't start etc.

The Last House on the Left - 9/10

i loved this movie, however, it made me quite uncomfortable in some parts. it also wasn't as gruesome as some people have told me, in my opinion at least.

Black Snake Moan
Not as good people told me. Good acting from Sam L. and Christina but very a predictable film. Justin Timberlake can NOT act. He should stop immediately.
The music is the best part of the film.

Now THIS is how you make a horror movie!!

Scares great. Atmosphere great. Scenery great. Story great. Even the camera works/effects was top-notch. The acting was good as well.

First "Saw" and now this one. James Wan is my new favorite American horror director.

Live Free Or Die Hard. 07/10

I went to see Die Hard 4.0 with an open mind, and contrary to expectations, its quite an entertainer!

Mind-boggling action sequences (combined with CGI but of course), and of course Bruce Willis! He gets to say the most famous line too without any cuts.:D

A total no-brainer, hardcore action flick. Best action I ve seen all year, beats FF4: Rise of the Silver Surfer & Spidey 3 by a long long mile.

Definitely recommended for all "Die-Hard" action fans. Others wont complain either.

Yippie Ki-yay Motherfucker!!

I don't believe you......;) Haven't seen this yet, will have to get to it soon.

Breaking Dawn ~ not the crapfest implied by the cover and the tagline, but its been done many times before, and done much better. Predictable.

The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada ~ tedious at times, but the acting is great and it wasn't what I was expecting. Good film.

Fear of Clowns ~ Lame.....

Ring Around the Rosie ~ Lamer......

Insomnia Manica ~ okay, this is what it says about this movie on the back "High powered, heart stopping intensity"......I think they may have put the wrong movie in the case.....;) It was too long, the first hour was frustratingly slow, the characters were annoying.....I suppose some of the second half showed some promise and it had some good ideas. But that's the best thing I can say about it.

Sure I do, I just don't have a very high opinion of Saw......:D I really figured Dead Silence would be pretty bad, looks kind of like a R rated version of Darkness Falls; I do want to see it, but my expectations were pretty low.

Well, so far i'm the only one in here who found it to be brilliant, so.... Your doubts makes SOME kind of sense, even though i've got the best taste in horror movies on this forum.

That actually sounds very depressing indeed.

I don't need to watch that one at the moment. Thanks for the heads up, Linda. ;)

1408. Not bad, but not great.

Bad Santa. Hadnt seen it before... had me in fucking stitches pretty much from the beginning... It was very strange to see lorelei from "The Gilmore Girls" riding Carl from Sling Blade saying "Fuck me Santa,Fuck me Santa,Fuck me Santa"

"Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon" 4/10

I liked the first 10 minutes. It felt fresh and fun. Like a comedy slasher version of "The Blair witch project".

But unfortunatly the fresh style got tiresome and boring fast and the rest of the movie ended up sucking... ASS!!!

Nathan Baesel did a great job playing Leslie Vernon though. Hope to see him in better horror movies in the near future.

Amalthea_unicorn... do you like horror? You never seem to talk about it, or watch any of it... but yet, you come here to post the latest cartoon you watched...

Black Snake Moan: Very well done. Atmosphere poured out of this one, and you could tell the talents involved gave it their very best. A lot of care was put into it. Justin Timberlake seemed oddly miscast though. It wasn't too bad, but he sort of... stuck out as the only weak point.

He's been doing that since 2004, so there must be SOMETHING about this place that he likes. :)

Maybe it's the people...

No, that can't be it.
