Cannibal (2006)

Inspired by the true story of Armin Meiwes who killed and ate a man whom he met on the Internet.
Very slow bun but utterly disgusting & disturbing. In comparison, A Serbian Film (2010) was even much easier film to watch!

Really satisfying indie horror. Romance-on-horror; along the lines of Let the Right One In, but a little sweeter and more playful. Bizarro love(craft) story. Solid recommendation.

Thanks for the rec, J. Hope to see it soon.

Candyman 2 -- 5/10

The new Goosebumps promo mini doc. -- 9.5/10; Yep, Old Man Stine (the real Stine) is gonna be hilarious, almost as hilarious as this guy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9-WFlYGwk3U

Puppet Master III: Toulon's Revenge (1991).

Great "prequel" set in WWII. Quite gruesome and a nice backstory of how the puppets became who they are. 7/10.

Snowtown. 9/10

Rarely interested in serial killers. Wasn't particularly interested in this one. I had forgotten why I put it on my list. Anyway, amazing acting. Well shot. No 'pretty' hollywood people. The way the film was organized, unless you know what its about beforehand, is a bit confusing, but in a good way. You begin to put things together, and I also remembered what the film was based on half way through. Really well done. Particularly because its not a horror or torture porn film. 9/10

" A Million Ways To Die In The West" (2014)
-Seth McFarland
Plot: IMDB
As a cowardly farmer begins to fall for the mysterious new woman in town, he must put his new-found courage to the test when her husband, a notorious gun-slinger, announces his arrival.

Phantom's Review: Crude, foul mouthed and very R rated. It's not a bad movie, it has a couple of very funny moments but almost all of the jokes deal with sex, and bowel movements and that gets old after awhile. My one bit of praise for the film is, it's beautifully filmed. I don't know if director Seth McFarland is a western fan or he went out and watched all of John Ford's movies, but either way he got the look of the film right.

Really unfortunate to see all these cool-looking art house films get mediocre scores from the roshiq. Makes me wonder if there are any good smaller-budget horror films out nowadays.

The Road Preputial -- 6.5/10; This could've been something special had the acting matched the direction.

Candyman 3 -- 2/10; What a waste of time.

Today I also watched Spring.
