If... (1968)

An uneven, yet thoroughly engaging indictment of the English boarding school system. Sometimes silly, sometimes quite funny with flashes of true cruelty and brutality. The film's odd oscillation between color and b&w feels forced and gimmicky, but a young Malcolm MacDowell shines as his misguided rage boils over.

7/10

At Blockbuster? Hmmmm...
Probably the original TCM, Brotherhood of the Wolf is a good one, Slither, Feast... I haven't rented from a b&m in a long time though.

scariest you can think of

Dawn of the Dead remake
The Descent
The Believers (not terribly scary, but creepy as hell)
Angel Heart (same as above)
Dead Silence just came out on DVD- didn't see it yet so I can't say if it's scary, but at least it's new
Audition
MoH - Imprint
The Haunting (original)
Shadow of the Vampire - not scary, but way cool

Double Indemnity (1944)

In keeping with my viewing streak of flawless films, I decided to watch Billy Wilder's unbelievably entertaining film noir. Definately remains in my top fifty personal favorites; this one only improves with age- it lasts as a tense, smart, classy thriller.

Guyver: Dark Hero. 05/10

Entertaining in patches. Acting is appalling, the direction is semi-decent, the story/script was ok, and some of the action sequences were actually decent to watch. More like a TV episode of Power Rangers, but with twists.

Watch this one (and the original The Guyver if you can find it) if you have nothing else to do.

really well done bio-pic. The ending was cut short though, I just think it could have been that little bit better.
