MONTROSE-Montrose (1973). Simply astounding debut from a band with too much talent/egos to last the long haul and that's a shame. For those of You who only know Sammy Hagar from his bland solo work and even blander tenure with Van Halen, give this a spin! |

If this is the stuff you were spinning as a DJ, you must have had a lot of very pleased listeners. |
I've been playing Run the Jewels 2 a lot lately.

Actually "The Land of Rape and Honey" is my favorite Ministry album! And yes, I had quite a few happy listeners::big grin:: College radio was very liberal when it came to playlists - We could play pretty much anything we wanted to! |
YESTERDAY AND TODAY-Yesterday and Today (1976). Excellent debut by a band that should have gotten more recognition-they later changed their name to Y & T.

John Beal's score for The Funhouse
I've counted this among my all time favorites since the first listen. |
HARD ATTACK-Dust (1972). Very wild album from an early 70's power trio consisting of Richie Wise (Producer of early KISS albums), Kenny Aaronsen (Bass for so many bands) and the amazing Mark Bell on drums who later became known as Marky Ramone. Quiet numbers are Poco-ish while the heavy material has a Blue Cheer/Amboy Dukes vibe.
|
PARANORMAL-Alice Cooper (2017). Certainly not groundbreaking like some of the earlier LP's, but certainly not bad at all. Finally, just write some short kicking tunes and scrap the concepts.

Midnight Fever: The Ultimate Horror Party Rock ~ by uh... different people I guess. Dave Miller is the composer listed so I'm going with him. It's a Halloween sounds set to music type thing I bought from a K-Mart going out of business. ...I think... I have so many of these things it's hard to remember where I got certain ones.

LIVE AT LEEDS-The Who (1970). For my money, STILL the BEST live album by anybody, so amazingly ferocious. Made my pulse race at 17 and at 56, still does.
