oh well......that's the way it gooooes! |
The Condemned
Lots of man on woman violence and some fun kills with some bad editing and silly, tired plot devices included to keep it right there in the middle. It's a fun action flick though, I saw it at the premiere so the fun was AT LEAST tripled. One of the kills was soooooo funny and one of my favorite kills in a movie now. |
Freddy vs Jason
I've always had a soft spot in my heart for this movie. |

We're getting to ready to watch Night Of The Comet...He hasn't seen this one either...I really hope he likes it...I had to pay quite a bit for it (way more than I would normally pay for a movie) but I REALLY wanted it, and it's not exactly easy to come by these days... I also got Night Of The Creeps, same story, pretty expensive but I NEEDED it...he hasn't seen Night Of The Creeps EITHER:eek: |
night of the comet and night of the creeps, both great movies!
and robert beltran and mary woronov, both in night of the comet and eating raoul! they must have struck up a friendship or something... all those movies were great, I was damn lucky and saw them projected back in the day. i just watched .... graveyard of horror ! |
Did I mention, Night of the Comet scared the crap out of me the first time I saw it...those zombies were really weird and aggressive! I am getting nostalgic for the 80's again, I had so much crazy fun in that decade.

Python
This movie sucked. Stupid script, pretty bad acting, minimal gore, bad CGI... About the only thing this film had going for it was Robert Englund & Casper Van Diem getting killed, other than that there wasn't much worth seeing here. D |
Gummo
a realistic portait of white trash life style. |
The last film I watched was The Grudge 2 earlier this evening. It was okay from the jumpy-scary point of view, but not better than the original. The Japanese version (Ju-On) was the best.

The Return- That was pathetic, honestly, what the hell were they doing anyway? I was too busy being pissed at it to even understand what they were doing..... And then it was over.... and the credits were done and I just realized it.
Bad movie, unrecommended. 3/10 |
ring 2. 7/10. quite creepy at times and an adequate sequal

Going to Pieces: The Rise and Fall of the Slasher Film
Going to Pieces: The Rise and Fall of the Slasher Film
This was a really cool documentary on the slasher sub-genre. Tons of great interview footage with very respectable horror icons like John Carpenter, Wes Craven, Tom Savini, Rob Zombie, etc plus a lot of clips of cool death scenes (many from the mid 80s). There's lots of useless but interesting information about many of our low budget favorites like Savini explaining in detail how he did some of the gorier deaths in some of the Friday the 13th movies. One interesting piece of info I picked up that I did not know was that when they were making Halloween, they could only afford Donald Pleasence for 3 days of shooting so ALL of his scenes in the first Halloween movie were filmed in 3 days time. This film basically tracks the slasher genre from Psycho & Peeping Tom through Halloween & Friday the 13th to Nightmare on Elm Street then Scream to the modern day equivelants of films like Hostel, Wolf Creek & Saw. This should be considered a must see documentary for anyone that considers themself anything more than a casual horror fan. A |
Bubba Ho-tep

AHH! You left out my Tombstone!!! That's got to be one of my favorites if for no other reason than Val Kilmer's A+ performance as Doc Holliday. I also really enjoyed both Young Guns films because not only were they entertaining, but surpirsingly, they were pretty close to being historically accurate too. |

Nice list of westerns made there. Its really tough to beat The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly though. I think For a Few Dollars More comes the closest, followed by Once Upon a Time in The West.
bwind22, I have to get that documentary. Can you refer me to a site where I can buy it? Thanks a lot buddy.:) Last film I watched was Serenity. |
