The Black Dahlia (2006)

Stylish, but it falls flat after about 25 minutes, and then you're left with 95 more.

Pretty much the same opinion as you. It was a decent family movie, but it was no.......

The Emperor's New Groove

10/10 My favorite animated film

Angra 03-17-2007 04:59 PM

"The breed" (2006) 5-6/10

The Testament of Dr. Mabuse

Well acted, well shot, and such a wonderful premise. This one struck all the right notes with me.

Return of the Living Dead

HOLY CRAP! That is one of the best living dead movies I have EVER seen! It's hilarious!!!!! that was about 50 times more funny that evil dead 2 even! It's so random! It's perfect! The perfect party movie! The best part is the radio:

"send more paramedics!"

Funny thing is, the tar man thing scared me =X I dunno why lol, I thought he was freaky. this movie is going to be shown on halloween if I have a party, perfect. I love the talking girl they tie down. "Brains! braiiiinnns hahahaha!"

10/10

Is the second one as good? And does it tie with the first?

The_Return 03-17-2007 06:12 PM

Last night:

North By Northwest

Probably my favourite Hitchcock movie so far...a masterpiece.

Tonight:

Nights of Cabiria

My first Fellini film, and I really enjoyed it. A little slow, but Cabiria was a great character so she made up for it. Incredibly powerful ending, too.

The Guardian (2006)

I loved it! Top-notch entertainment, and surprisingly powerful and well-acted.

Jackass 2 9/10

It was so fucking funny!

Despare 03-17-2007 08:09 PM

The City of Lost Children and Face in the Crowd.
Both were amazing and both were first time views for me.

Posher778 03-17-2007 08:59 PM

Alien 3

I love it, like all the Alien films, but this is the worst of the 4. It's just boring, even half of the action. The kill in the infirmary is great, along with the end. But... yeah, there's no accounting for taste...

6/10

Geddy 03-18-2007 02:29 AM

The Evil Dead.

slayer666 03-18-2007 04:57 AM

The Butcher. Bad TCM ripoff. The characters were so annoying I wish they had been killed earlier.

Bloody Reunion

SamCostello 03-18-2007 10:17 AM

Saw Ringu 0 this week. Some pretty scary bits and it did a great job of underlining the tragedy that sits at the root of the whole Ring mythos, so not bad. A little slow in places, but worth the watch.

Also watched Guerilla: The Taking of Patty Hearst, a decent, but unsatisfying documentary about the kidnapping of Patty Hearts in the 60s/70s.

Serenity.
I think the series "firefly" is more rewatchable, but it's still a good sci-fi flick, leagues better'n most movies calling themselves scifi these days.

I didn't really like any past the second myself...I mean, they were all "ok" but a far cry.

True. Alien is the only TRUE Alien film, but they're all worth viewing at least once, if not owning for the sake of having all 4. Resurrection is the most *fun* of them all, but only because it's an action film with aliens...

I think I'll wait for the dvd to come out, if it's like the new series I probably won't like it.

the_real_linda 03-18-2007 02:43 PM

the_real_linda 03-18-2007 02:58 PM

a tomb raider who wears a bruce lee yellow jumpsuit when she fights.....strange and sarah michelle gellars voice is too familiar to play an animated character

Geddy 03-18-2007 02:59 PM

lol,I wish they could make a new movie based on the old series.

Posher778 03-18-2007 03:00 PM

Alien- 96/100

The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy- 84/100

Return of the Living Dead (again)- 82/100

Drive-Thru
Just decent. Could have been a cult hit if a few things were tighter. The direction and cinematography was average. Some nice shots here and there, but nothing special. The script could have been 100% better had they done another 2 or 3 drafts before filming. It had the bones to be amazing - just needed a little flesh here and there. The clown was terrifying, and the one liners were aplenty. The story was okay, but as I said... the script could have used a rework. The birthday scene near the end was perfect, IMO, and the strongest part. The weakest would have been the CGI effects, which were rather crude.
