If you're a fan of Asian movies, horror movies, or Asian horror movies you owe it to yourself to check this one out. I can't wait to see II!

Thanks Josh. Killbill is my favorite film of all time, and Batman begins is in my top 10, used to be my favorite. Scream 3 is just hysterical!

I really wish we'd get the promised combined Kill Bill experience. I don't need the big fight scene in color per-se but just a more complete, single movie experience. (I've seen the fight in color and actually prefer it in B&W.)

Mmmmm combined... That'd be divine. I'd love a full story too. Starting from when the Squad was formed and ending about a year after the end of the second film.

Have you seen Japan's collector's set? It's GREAT.

No I haven't, describe it for me?

Here's an excerpt about the box for Vol 1

Comes with making of featurettes, TV spots, movie trailers and more. In addition, this version also offers a special "Okinawa" T-shirt , an unique "Hattori Hanzo" sword 1/10 scaled figure , a luxurious 24-page all-color booklet plus more! As the supply of this item is very limited, shop it right away to avoid future regrets!

What they fail to mention is that in addition to the cool swag, you're also getting the unaltered Japanese print. See, the MPAA in their wisdom have linked violence ratings directly to the amount of red blood in the film, and yes, they are quite specific that the blood must be red to count. This is why alien blood (and the blood in the Evil Dead films) is pretty well always black or green - it's an attempt to do an end run around the censors. Kill Bill is such a bloody film that it wouldn't have qualified for an R rating unless Tarantino did something about all that red, so rather than cut, he decolourized certain scenes. No such problem in Japan, so if you want to see it the way it was filmed, this is the way to go.

A lot from what I can find. The second box set seems easier to find and cheaper but I can't find a good price on a legit copy heh.

I wasn't as impressed as I wanted to be. It wasn't that memorable or anything at all, it was extremely repetitive, and I thought the acting was horrible. The only thing that was amazing was the visuals, especially the millions of arrows. The fighting was gory enough, but repetitive. Nothing new ever happened.... And..... the plot sorta turned into mush..... Bleh, it was OK, nothing more.

6/10

Hmmm.... Doesn't sound too promising.

That's exactly how i felt about Sin City, except for the bad acting.

joshaube 03-16-2007 05:50 PM

Fido. Hillarious! Our theatre was dying of laughter, our town is surprisingly morbid. Go see it nowwwwww!

It was cheesy as hell with lots of T&A, bad fighting, and fart jokes. They also poke fun at Kentucky (sorry BR heh). So... yeah... kinda.

Darkspider 03-16-2007 10:56 PM

"Dead Silence" Enjoyed very much. It started a little slow but once we got to the town where Mary Shaw was kill, it got good, and the emding was a nice twist, most people didn't saw it coming.

Art of the Devil II

GREAT Asian horror film, better than the first one and gruesome too! Pulling out toenails with pliers, a dozen lizards ripping out of somebody's body, and lots of black magic. Tons of fun.

An American Werewolf In London

WOW That movie is HILARIOUS! The porno theater scene.

Check the new top 10.

Revenge of the Nerds
I bought the boxset. Parts 2-4 soon.

I almost bought AWinL the other day, but I only had enough money to get either Magnolia, or AWinL and 2 other cheapie-DVDs. I chose Magnolia, since it's rare to see it in stores around here. I own the sequel, watched it way back...
