Goodfellas

Incredible...cant believe it took me this long to get around to watching it.

Vodstok 03-01-2007 06:53 PM

Seen quite a few recently:
Ladder 49. Not bad, but I have just about had it with movies of this type and ending.

Chronicles of NArnia. Not Lord of the Rings, but very satisfying nonetheless

Starwars, Episode 3: Revenge of the Sith. I expected a lot, so I was pretty let down. Grievous was way less cool than i thought he would be, but It was comfortable old territory witha new sotry, plus it was nice to see alll the tie ins, so not great, but I enjoyed it.

Crank. Formover function, style over substance, FUCKing awful. Hated it. Great premise horribly executed.

What's eating gilbert grape?

The_Return 03-02-2007 07:55 AM

Mad Love (1935)

Peter Lorre does one hell of a creepy job in this one. Very good movie.

The_Return 03-02-2007 12:18 PM

The Devil Doll (1936)

Well, now Ive watch all the movies in the "Hollywood Legends of Horror" collection, and I must say that this is easily the best. Effects that could still hold up today and a wonderful performance by Lionel Barrymore, with a great plot to boot. Highly reccomended.

Despare 03-02-2007 12:25 PM

Howard the Duck

Need I say more?

The movies you always watch, are they with your family or do you personally like them and watch them? Not bashing, just wondering. :)

For me it was the 3 Tenacious D shorts: JB's BJ, Rockstar Sperm, and Butt Baby.

But what about the others? Are they movies you really like or movies you watch with kids/family that you enjoy?

You'd love it. Lionel Barrymore is perfect.

Damn good movie night :

From Dusk Till Dawn

One of the best action movies out there. Clooney is a total badass, and the twist was amazing (even though I already knew about it...its still awesome). Very glad that I bought it instead of renting, 'cause I'll definatly be watching it again.

Frailty

Second time watching this one...its alot different once you know the ending, but you cant really appreciate the genius of it with just one viewing. Totally different experience this time around, but still...wow. One of the best horror flicks of the millenium.

missmacabre 03-02-2007 07:17 PM

Watched Alien last night for about an hour, then got movie ADD and turned it to Jeopardy.

I thought it was way too over the top. the writer director was in love with the flash and the glitz, and ended up with sloppy direction and a pointless story.

Below

As far as ghost movies go, this was pretty good. The acting was good, good atmospehere but not much gore. A haunted ship has been done a few times before, but this was one of the better interpretations of a fairly stale concept.

B-

Tenacious D: The Pick of Destiny

Well, I really liked this one, but then again I am a Tenacious D fan. I'm not sure how it'd go over with someone that didn't like them or was unfamiliar with their work, but I found it to be hilarious. The songs were good, the story was corny but entertaining, the laughs were there. All in all, I thought this was a pretty entertaining film.

Raging Bull (1980)

I think this is probably my third favorite on the Scorsese scale. It really is an incredible film.

An Inconvenient Truth

Really powerful movie...everyone should see this.

Wow! What a shocker this one was! The *big* ending wasn't that great I thought though. I had heard so much hype about it, but it wasn't that amazing, but it was good. This movie has some intense scenes. Great acting, and it's very scary, in a disturbing way.

One of the most disturbing and intense scenes i've seen in a while was, and i'll try not to spoil anything since this whole movie is a big spoiler, when they were all in the cellar with the one man who cusses a lot. Those of you who've seen it know what i'm talking about... creepy.

Yea, that movie was quite good. Bill Paxton was so freaky in that role.

I just went and saw The Number 23 last night.
It wasnt very good. Joel Schumacker just knows how to not make good movies. And the end was lame and generic, its like iv seen this ending a thousand time befor.
