That Andrew Stevens, he's some actor eh ? :)

early appearance by daryl hannah..

yep

shame that his later career is mired in "erotic" thrillers

The Grudge 2

I actually thought that this was quite a bit creepier than the first one. Lame with terrible acting, story, etc., yes. But it did creep me out a little while watching it which is rare.

6/10 (Only because it creeped me out, if not, 4/10)

The Illusionist (2006)

This'll get the Academy Award for cinematography. Highly recommended.

Syriana

It reminded me lot of Traffic in that it took one huge problem (The oil cycle) and pretty much examined it from every angle. (Obviously Traffic focused on the drug trade and this is about Middle East and Western oil connections, but the way they went about examining is what seemed similar to me.)

I thought this was a very well acted & directed film. The plot gets a bit complicated & confusing at points, but for the most part we can follow fairly easily. There's not a ton of action or gore as it's really more of a politcal drama but if you don't mind watching political dramas, then this is one worth checking out.

Orca...It was still really good, even after more than 20 years

House

I was in the mood for some cheesy 80's horror and picked this one up for $5.
Fun movie, but special effects are a bit dated. Still, a good mix of comedy and suspense.

I thought it was pretty good as well...but sometime's I felt like they were just trying to hammer it home a little too hard.

Dark Fields

This movie had a rocking soundtrack with terrible camera work and acting. Not to mention it's a TCM knock-off.

4/10

Hmmmm...DVD-R maybe? :D

Spirit Trap

One weird fucking movie. Kind of reminded me of House Of 9 for some reason. It was ok, worth a watch. A bit slow though.

7/10

Miss Olivia 02-13-2007 01:36 PM

Leviathan......could have been WAY better than it actually was.

Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust.....one of my new favorite animes of all time. I was expecting it to be good, but it exceeded all my expectations.
Definitely the best movie I've watched in a long time.

Alright, I'm going to say, this isn't the best movie I've ever seen, but it was deffinetly a good one. Anyone who hasn't seen this needs to pick up a copy.

The Black Dahlia 5/10

a beautifully photographed piece of crap. I really love Ellroy, but found this rather boring.

Evil
(To Kako)
An ok zombie flick with some decent gore and an ending that made me laugh out loud.

Masters of Horror - Pick Me Up

Kinda stupid in places, but the plot and characters were pretty cool. I liked it.

I don't know the date....but I heard Lions Gate will be releasing"The Monster Squad" S.E. sometime this year!:D

Phalanx 02-13-2007 11:08 PM

Tank Girl...kinda watched it...never really liked it, still don't.

House of 9 - Elements of saw, and a very "cube"-like ending...but not really a great movie, with some REALLY bad performances...I mean, Dennis Hopper as an Irish priest? Get fucked...

Hudson Hawk - Still kind've in the middle about this one, elements I like, some I don't...it's relatively entertaining in parts, but far from the best of Willis.

Cypher - watched about half of it...tried too hard to be weird, unlikeable as a result.

Hoodwinked - Fairly funny in parts, not "great" but good.

Bad Santa - Yeah, seems to live up to the hype, pretty funny movie, full of "that
's just wrong"...don't really like BBT, but, this one was indeed pretty good.

Brick - I was stoned as all hell for this one, and don't think that was the best idea...great looking, stylish film though...might hire it again one day, stay in my right mind so I've a chance of making head or tail of it.

bloodrayne 02-13-2007 11:18 PM

Dolly Dearest...Pretty good

bwind22 02-13-2007 11:47 PM

Sky High

I watched this with very low expectations, but I'm delighted to say that this film blew my low expectations right out of the water. I thought it was excellent! Good FX, good acting and a completely fresh & original plot. All of that plus a good amount of humor and let's not forget Bruce Campbell (Who steals every scene he's in.) It could have been that my initial expectations were so low, but I really enjoyed this movie and now think it's probably one of the most highly under-rated comedies to come ou in the past few years. I was thuroughly entertained from start to finish.

A-
