The Libertine.---I probabaly would not have made it through this whole movie if not for Johnny Depp. This guy could read the phonebook aloud for 90 minutes and make it interesting.

Almost 14,000 posts in here!!

My kid went to see Night at the Museum and said it was very funny and worth seeing again.

My last movie was Dear Frankie.
I cannot make a decision about this movie.
It made me very sad.

You desrve some kind of award for watching it with Ultraviolet...that wasnt quite as bad, but it was no great shakes either.

yep, it was a crap night all round really, Mutant was the best of a bad bunch and that wasn't great either :( although i think Ultraviolet may get better with more viewing so i'll give that one a shot (yeah i know, i'm sad, lol), i hated The Fifth Element first time i saw that too

Never mind, made up for it tonight :) watched Suspiria and Cat People, enjoyed both of them so now i feel a bit better ;)

The Notorious Daughter of Fanny Hill/The Head Mistress

......terrible. Not up to the usual Something Weird Video standard. Some of the extras were kinda funny but this was just dull instead of quirky.

Planet of the Apes (Burton)

still didnt like it - but i did admire the ape makup..

Elvis_Christ 01-09-2007 06:28 PM

I always lose interest in that flick before the end. I really wanted to like it but I dunno it just doesn't do it for me. Kinda like the last movie in the original Apes series. Loved the TV series however.

Snakes on a Plane

not good, but not as bad as it should have been. what won me over was the line "Time is tissue"

That's so stupid cool that I'm in awe. If I had written that line I would have quickly erased it as too silly, but it's pulled off in such a fantastic manner...7.5/10

and that's pretty good from me

Sick_As_Fuck 01-09-2007 11:40 PM

As a huge Sam Jackson mark I was greatly disappointed by "Snakes On A Plane".

Just saw "Ultraviolet" on Starz OnDemand. Not my type of shit, though. Could've spent those 85 minutes of my life much more wisely.

as a huge sam jackson fan you should have gotten exactly what you expected. it was the same exact performance as he's given in the last 300 movies he's done.

I liked "Evil Aliens". Now i'm going to have to find me "Razorblade Smile".

The reviews I read for this made it sound like the sun shone out its ass but we all know only one thing falls out of that orifice. Started off promising enough but just turned into a long episode of some terrible British sitcom. Somewhere inbetween Hostel and Shaun Of The Dead but with less originality overused jokes (the script for this must've been written in the 90s). Don't beLIEve the hype this movie is average at best. Not funny, not scary but I'm sure a bunch of people will dig it.

Invasion of the body snatchers (1978) ...best version ..still good

Not really. In films like "Pulp Fiction", "Jackie Brown", and "Fresh" even though his roles are more serious they still come off as hilarious. Hilariously brilliant, though. With a title like "Snakes on a Plane" we all knew it'd be cheesy anyway, yet he tried to play a serious cop all they way through until the end when he did his big "I want these motherfucking snakes..." shpiel. It was just a huge letdown in my opinion. In fact, the funniest part of the movie wasn't even included in the final cut.

Phalanx 01-10-2007 06:44 PM

I liked Jackson in Unbreakable, 'A time to Kill' and cavemans valentine...the only characters that really showed any kind've difference in persona to all the others he's played. I won't bother mentioning his star wars character...everyone in that was equally wooden. That said, I haven't seen ALL his stuff, my comments refer only to that which I HAVE seen, and I definately see a pattern, as most would.
I don't mind his whole "bit", but I think he could be more effective if he dropped it every now and then. "Mr Glass" was a sinister son of a bitch, he did it well.

Er, watched a bit of Harold & Kumar, but had other stuff to do...

Ballz Deep 01-10-2007 07:01 PM

I just watched Mission Impossible III, it wasn't bad:)

Urge, thank you for every single time you told us all that we need to see this movie. Easily and beyond all shadow of a doubt one of the coolest, most fun films that Ive ever seen...damn near perfect in every way:D

This is why I usually avoid renting films. Ive paid to rent this, and now I'll need to shell out more to buy it...

Don't get me wrong. I agree that he certainly has his own style, but doesn't every actor? I just felt that his performance in "SOAP" was, to use your own terminology, very "wooden".
