Run Lola Run
Mother watched this with me, making it one of the few foriegn films she's actually seen (she's not a fan of subtitles, but occasionally doesn't mind them). A pretty cool flick; reccomended (by Sundance, too). The soundtrack certainly gets your body parts moving, My foot was tapping throughout. Ah, techno.

Masters of Horror S02E03 next.

Superman Returns-----effect weren't bad...plot kinda sucked...acting not great...Routh is no Reeve, although he looks just like him, but Reeve seemed to have more fun with the role.

Clerks 2.....have it on now as I type.....pretty good.

Terror Train

Pretty basic plot, the deaths are few and far between, the characters are cliché....It was entertaining and really wasnt too bad, but theres alot better out there.

I'm in a phase right now, a B-movie phase. I don't know what it is about them, but I've been craving them for a while now. Everyone I decided to watch, I end up enjoying more then your typical feature.

Going to watch Headspace and Are You Scared? right now. Then Maybe The Roost at a later date.

I recently found a rental store that stocks a wide variety of B-movies. I used to Blockbuster, until they blamed me for a missing DVD in their inventory (Session 9) and I refuse to pay the 15.99$ for something I AM SURE (as in 1025383258%) I RETURNED.

Anyway, comments when I finish. :)

Altered States:

good cheesy fun

great Cronenberg film. very strange. dont try to make any sense out of it and it will be a much more enjoyable experience

worst ending ever. stop complaining about high tension's ending. this is the ultimate bad ending.

Gore-Met Zombie Chef From Hell:

fucking awful. right up there with shriek of the mutilated. 2nd worst film of all time.

Monsturd:

totally fucking gross. Pounds of vomit and shit. funny.

Requim For A Dream:

powerful, well directed and disturbing film

Casino:

another great Scorsese film. if you liked goodfellas, see this.

Feast:

lots of fun, and damn rediculous, gets a little slow though.

C.H.U.D.
Yep

EarthSlayer 11-27-2006 12:42 AM

The Exorcist: the beginning. Didn't like this movie at all , it reminded me of being forced to attend church as a child.

Savage Messiah: interesting movie about a French Canadian cult figure who just happened to have been a psycho as well. Over all decent movie.

Casion Royale

Great IMO, one of the better bond movies ( Excluding almost all the older ones of course... But better than golden eye and die another day, etc)

8/10

the ending of that movie is unreal. it's really hard to get people to commit time to the whole flick since it is quite dull at the onset.

I saw that movie when i was in high school and me and the guy that watched it just yelled "SHUNT SHUNT!!!" anytime we saw each other for the next week.

I watched "Code of Silence" with Chuck Norris this morning. It's not horror but it's fucking awesome anyways! :D

The Proposition

A gritty well acted western, set in Australia in 1880.Very brutal.

Spec7ral 11-27-2006 05:23 PM

Wow, i just managed to squeeze "Feed" in before MNF started. Holy fuck was that movie ever awesome. Definetly at the top of my "to buy" list. Definetly not for everyone tho.

Phalanx 11-27-2006 07:37 PM

Watched "Narnia: Lion, Witch, Wardrobe" last night.
It's the first time I'd watched this, having never seen the series, or read the book of the same name (although, I think I actually may have read one of the sequels quite accidentally, years ago...I remember something about foxes, and a wardrobe)...it was actually a lot better than I was expecting.
Even as a child, when I heard the title being spoken of...I just thought it sounded really "kiddy", never bothered looking into it.
I don't know how the movie rates in comparison, but on its own, it sure felt like it had a lot of heart, I was watching it thinking "is it weird that I'm liking this as much as the LOTR stuff?" actually...this one felt more "right" than any of those did. Great music, simplistic but adequately enthralling storyline, and try as I might, the kids didn't manage to annoy me, and actually HAD independant characters, which was good...I mean the girls were girly, and the boys, boyish, but they weren't each carbon copies of the other...Also thought the guy that played the goatman (thomas?) did a pretty good job of it, fit right in.
Moments of darkness were there too...surprising...and the battle scenes were just great. I really am surprised at how much I liked this film, I would envy the child who's first taste of the series, was this film.

It's fucking hilarious!

Phalanx 11-28-2006 04:05 AM

"Eastern Condors"...haven't really seen that many martial arts/war/action type films, but I have to say this one was really entertaining. I had the dubbing on so the whole thing sounded like a 70's cartoon, but, it was still fun.
A couple of my favourite martial arts folks were in this one too.
Simple plot, but it was cool...
That guy with the balloon cycle that ended up going along with them...whoever the fuck he was, he was KICKASS.
Anyone know the guy I'm talking about?

Anyone reccomend any other films of this type?

ManchestrMorgue 11-28-2006 11:01 AM

Caligula (1979)

First time I have seen this. Interesting film, with some big names such as John Geilgud, Peter O'Toole, Helen Mirren, Malcolm McDowell. I think a lot of interest comes from seeing such big name actors in a movie with hardcore scenes.

The acting is OK, but the editing leaves a bit to be desired. However the movie does create an excellent atmosphere of debauchery, intrigue, and madness that is rarely seen. The hardcore scenes add to this and as such I don't think can be considered merely pornographic.

put the gore from every low budget film ever made and condense it into one, you would have bone sickness. 8/10

Bone Sickness

Some of the effects were REALLY bad though, and the ending seemed like a quick, tacked on mish-mash of ideas. The audio was bad and I didn't care for the way it was shot. On the PLUS side, Mothman's right, there's a lot of good gore buried in here too and some of the ideas were pretty good but I'd only give it a 6/10.

After watching the special features I'll have to say 6.5 because in the bloopers a zombie walks up to a SWAT team member and takes his mic saying, "Send more SWAT guys.". Heh, funny stuff, I chuckled.

my buddy who was over to watch the game couldnt make it through thw whole thing, he came over and started watching about 30 minutes in cause i was making noise (ie. "O my fucking god." Ungh!" "omg no way" and generally shuddering/laughing/squinting at certain bits) he watched about 30 mins of the middle and then was like "I am erasing the last hour from my brain" and went to watch the pregame show. LOL!
