I just watched Halloween 4. I think it was a different edit to what I saw when i watched it first time around some 15 years ago, not as good as what I remebered it!

How is Loomis's jump at the servo for a guy with a walking stick?

Phalanx 10-31-2006 08:32 AM

Madagascar, for the first time.
It was initially funnier than I thought it would be, but I felt it fell down in the last half hour...Chris Rock and David Schwimmer were probably at their least irritating, some good Stiller-esque rants, a few funny film references, and you gotta love the sedative dart trip-out.
Over-all a decent movie, but I don't think it stayed consistant through to the end. Kids would sure love this one.

Phalanx 10-31-2006 10:19 AM

Flightplan.
A bit far fetched...points for going past the initial "twist" though.
It was ok, but not a film I'll be in a hurry to see again.
The fire extinguisher to the face was some fun...

The Flayed One 10-31-2006 10:30 AM

X-Men: Last Stand

I was quite disappointed in this one. Definately not up to the standard of the first two.

Yeah, Visiting Hours is certainly old school. Somehow I had never seen it before. It wasn't bad - worth a watch but nothing great.

Have no idea?

I just noticed your new name and post count.

Sorry dude.

The Flayed One 10-31-2006 02:31 PM

I recongnize Amalthea. I haven't seen anything that you've done that was controversial in the slightest. Bummer:(

joshaube 10-31-2006 04:02 PM

Halloween
I enjoyed it. :)

Have SCREAM on in the background now. An American Werewolf in London is playing next, and after that, Creepshow and Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

I'm watching another movie at 9, but what that will be... I'm not sure. What do you guys think? Should I move on to Halloween II? Or go with The Roost?

i doubt very much that you got banned .. you probably had a password issue since the forum format change

The_Return 10-31-2006 07:03 PM

Dungeon of Harrow

Let me break this film down for y'all:

Take one of Roger Cormann's Poe films from the 60's. Switch the story around to be based loosely (VERY loosely) on the Marquis de Sade. Take away about 60% of the budget and 90% of the talent involved. Now, add a touch of LSD for good measure : Tada! What you're left with is most likely something like Dungeon of Harrow.

Really strange, no-budget, obscure-as-all-heck little film that I watched for the first time last Halloween, and have decided to turn into a tradition. It's poorly made, the quality of the DVD is crap as well, but there is just something about this movie that I enjoy.

alkytrio666 10-31-2006 08:29 PM

Psycho (1960)

then

Halloween...in theatres. It was pretty cool, I had fun.

Despare 10-31-2006 09:21 PM

So far...

Dead Alive
Dog Soldiers
Abominable Dr. Phibes
Mad Monster Party

But on the morrow there will be more... oh yes... much more.

Phalanx 10-31-2006 11:10 PM

Serenity, after burning through firefly over the past week.
Real solid peice of scifi there. Great dialogue, good "villain", funny, sad, exciting. Wouldn't know how I'd rate it had I not seen the series, but IMO
it's a pretty sweet film.

bwind22 11-01-2006 01:47 AM

Ghoulies

Cheesy 80s flick. It's rated PG so it's light on the gore. The acting is campy at best, the clothes hairstyles and music are all so toally 80s it makes me want to bust out a pair of Zubaz or something. It was okay, but nothing all that entertaining really.

Book of Shadows: Blair Witch 2.

I saw this yesterday and feared for the worse; I didn't actually like the Blair Witch Project, but was surprised that I actually liked this one - a whole lot better.

The only problem with it is that it was a sequel - I think it could have made it as a stand alone flick, without the curse of the tag - sequel, hanging around its neck, which is why I've never watched it before.

If I had the choice to watch either of them again, (for the purests out there) sorry but book of shadows would defineately be my number one choice.

slayer666 11-01-2006 03:57 AM

Last seen were Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974) and Halloween.

its not bad - not great - its a solidly acted british horror film with a good atmosphere ... fairly gritty but not as raw as people are making it out to be .. definately worth a watch.

The Omen (1976)

My first time viewing this masterpiece. Near perfect in everyway....the first film in ages that actually succeeded in creeping me out.

Very glad I finally got around to watching this.

Despare 11-01-2006 07:10 PM

TCM (Remake)
The Hills Have Eyes (Original)
Slither
and
The Raven

With Slither it was weird, I was expecting more "gross factor" and less of a good movie. I was surprised really.
