And what did you think of them?

Cube, I love. Cube 2, I love equally. Cube Zero, I didn't... mainly because it "explained", and there's so much fun in not knowing.

the_real_linda 10-28-2006 06:30 PM

ther a fav of mine ( lots of things are my fav im just realising..hmmmmm?) i felt the same way....like the ending to cube...its just like your left completly hanging and cube2 you think its gonna explain its self but again with the hanging....its like....eh? what? which is why i loved them....you dont need to know...you know? cube zero had plenty of blood and gore and goo so is still good but wasnt needed as a film or shouldnt have told us and explained some stuff....still love them as a set tho.....:D

the_real_linda 10-28-2006 06:31 PM

I liked it, too. Steve Buscemi and Maggie Gylenhall were both great, the casting was superb.

The Gate 2

Good fun with some pretty cool old school stop motion animation.

I've got them on VHS. I picked up the first because it had a cool holographic cover. Both are cheesey as hell but damn fun!

The Exorcist
The Relic

Phalanx 10-29-2006 08:01 AM

I saw boo...I just remember it being stupid all the way through, with a really dumbass plot point thrown in at the end.
I have to give it this though, I thought it had some good (albeit completely fake ad over the top) gore.

I remember seeing a few trailers for other films by the same dodgy looking company...the other films previewed on there looked stupid, but fun...one was "cerebus - hound of hell", and it just ended up looking like a stupid-ass adventure movie...something made me wanna check it out though...boo was pretty lousy.

A Tale of Two Sisters

Hmmm... Well, I don't know. I guess I'm in the minority, but I found this to be rather boring for the first half and then violent and confusing for the second half. I'm still not exactly sure what the ending was, but the acting was good and there was a fair amount violence. I don't know... I guess I'm just not a huge fan of Asian horror. So far, the only 2 I've seen that I really enjoyed were Battle Royale and Ichi the Killer.

Mr. 3000

Well, this was an okay baseball comedy. Not grat, but not terrible and I am a fan of Bernie Mac so I was fairly entertained. It's no Major League but it's a pretty charming little story of redemption.[/b]

C+

Monster House

This was good. I always find these CGI films to be very hit or miss, but this one is definately a hit. I was entertained from start to finish. If you have little ones, this is a film the whole family will enjoy.

B+

Slither

Well, I guess I got my hopes up too high for this one. It was good, it was entertaining, but it wasn't as great as I had hoped. The story was pretty basic, there was a fair amount of gore and the acting was fine, but nothing about this movie really struck me as unique or awesome. It's a good cheesy popcorn flick, but not much more.

C

Strangeland

Ah, Dee Snider... What a fucked up guy you are.... This is a twisted looked into Snider's dark psyche as he wrote, directed and stars in this experiment in sadism and torture. Watching this again after not seeing it in about 8 years really made me wonder if films like Saw or Hostel drew any inspiration from any of the twisted torture scenes in this one...

The Exterminator

nasty little bit of old school. keeps you watching ..

Phalanx 10-29-2006 08:11 AM

Has anyone seen "the wraith"? The cover always looks kinda interesting, but I dunno what to make of it...reccomendations? Should I hire it?

By the way, a lil' while ago, I saw a movie starring Adam Baldwin called "Control Factor"...if you wanna see one trip of a movie...check this out...or, you could also check out "the trip", I suppose...although an entirely different kinda deal going on there.

freddy69 10-29-2006 08:57 AM

nightmare on elm st. was the last movie i saw .it was on yesterday.:p :p

Geddy 10-29-2006 09:46 AM

Not bad except for the really corny motorcycle and car sounds...I liked it.
